I am a great believer in Karma, but just what is it? Karma comes from the Sanskrit and ancient Indian Language with the underlying principal that every deed in our lives will affect our future life. For example, if we treat others badly during our lifetime we will have negative experiences later on in that lifetime or in future lifetimes. Likewise, if we treat others well we will be rewarded by positive experiences.

A BEAUTY BLOG 'AVON PRODUCTS' FOUNDATION AND ANEW PRO LINE CORRECTOR

A beauty blog this time, I'm always looking for new products to try especially if they are inexpensive as I don't believe you have to pay a lot for products. At the moment I'm trying a couple of Avon products and before you knock this company, they have been around a long time and their cosmetics have come a long way. You don't have to find an Avon representative either as you can buy directly online.

The first product I'm trying is this one.

Avon Ideal Flawless Matte Mousse Foundation

I'm using the shade "nude" this is a good colour match for me in fact it was difficult to tell where I had applied it. It's a very light foundation and gives light to medium coverage and has a matt finish, It's also very easy to apply and doesn't feel sticky or just sit there as some mouse foundations I've tried in the past and I'm impressed by it. It's very reasonably priced even at it's full price as it's on offer just now at half price.

The other product I'm using is this one

Anew PRO Line Corrector Treatment with A-F33

The jury is still out on this one as this is the first day I've tried it so I will follow up my findings on this product but its light and disappeared into my skin and doesn't have a greasy feel. I'm lucky to  have been blessed by good genes as I don't have many lines for my age and they are not deep, it helps having an oily skin, though when I was younger I cursed it however it's paying benefits now.

It's claims:

Gel lotion formulation with patented+ A-F33 for Avon's ultimate in fighting fine and deep wrinkles. 30ml. Our fastest wrinkle fighter EVER +U.S. patent All cosmetic product results are achieved with continued use.

I'll let you know if it's claims stand up, it's active ingredient appears to be Retinol.

RECOMMENDED PRODUCTS (A BEAUTY BLOG)

A beauty blog this time

Now I've talked about this company before and recommended it http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk/ so I've been road testing a few more products by them. As  I used to be a college lecturer in Holistic Therapies and Beauty Therapy, you don't need to spend a lot of money on products, much of the money is spent on fancy packaging, some of the budget brands work better than high end products and ELF is one of those. The packaging although fairly basic, doesn't look cheap but what makes this company special is their products are as good and effective as the high end ones. They also have a huge range of products and are continually adding to their range. I certainly would recommend their products to students and professionals for their clients.

Today's products are

This is great and very finely milled and a fraction of the cost of some, and I have to say better than high end brands.

High Definition Powder

The high definition loose powder creates a "soft focus" effect to the skin. Masks fine lines and imperfections for a radiant complexion. The incredibly soft and invisible powder is great for on-screen and everyday wear.

I love this too and again a fantastic price and works beautifully.

Foundation

Our weightless mineral foundation will help get you on your way to healthier illuminating skin. All our powders blend naturally into the skin, and are so light that they work with your skin colour to create a perfect colour match. All of our foundations contain sun protection factor (spf) 15 and are 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.

Another great little product, I've tried the brown one (coffee) and comes with a great little brush for fool proof application

Cream Eyeliner

Creates smooth lines that are defined and precise. Smudge-proof, budge-proof and water-resistant coverage for all day wear to combat against, sweat, tears and rain!

Now I like this and it works well around my eyes, I don't have 'crow's feet' but I do have a few fine lines under my eyes as my skin is not as firm in this area as it used to be after all I'm 55. I do like the MAC one better for frown lines and that's only because this one by ELF is more suited to dry skin and my skin is still oily and is probably why my skin as stood up to the ravages of time. Now if ELF was to do one for us oily skin customers I would be first in the que! However it's a good product none the less.

Wrinkle Refiner

Instantly smooth, soften and virtually fill in laugh lines, crow’s feet and wrinkles for a flawless finish. Key ingredients draw in moisture to smooth and plump delicate skin for a rejuvenated and youthful look. The rich blend of Wheat Protein, Horse Chestnut, Caffeine, Edelweiss, Chamomile, Shea, Mango and Vitamins A & E retexturise skin and can help prevent future damage and premature ageing.

Now all of these products are inexpensive, so you can easily afford these and more and ELF is available in quite a few countries now by clicking the flag of the appropriate country at the top of their home page.

MOISTURISER, ONE OF THE BEST I'VE EVER USED

A beauty blog today

I don't recommend anything I've not tried and this product is from Aldi, now just because it's from a budget supermarket it doesn't mean it's a cheap nor inferior product. Over the years both as a consumer and as a beauty therapy lecturer I have used both professional and top end market products, but I have to say I am now using this moisturiser and I love it. Most moisturisers for my age group are very oily and still having oily skin I want a product that will deeply moisturise my skin without leaving me like an oil slick, this product from Aldi suits me perfectly. Don't dismiss other great buys from this store either, it does sell some other great products too.

BEAUTY TIPS 'WONDERFUL ARGAN OIL'

A beauty blog this time as this site is holistic i.e mind body and spirit and aimed to create beauty inside and out.

I discovered this fantastic oil from my friend Dony a lovely Italian lady who gave me the link to SIMPLY ARGAN I had started using the oil on my skin and its a fantastic product but have now started using this on my hair and anything that makes my hair easy to manage is a miracle product to me. I had been using expensive branded serums on my hair, as when I wash my hair it resembles a sheep dragged through a car wash, but this oil is much better and of course a fraction of the price as a few drops goes a very long way. For once I didn't look like a blow dried sheep! It's rich in antioxidants that wonderful Vitamin E well known for its repair and anti ageing effects. It doesn't leave the skin or hair oily either as it is not a mineral oil.

GO TO SIMPLY ARGAN TO PURCHASE

INFORMATION IS FROM 'SIMPLY ARGAN'

Argan Oil Benefits and Information

Argan Oil is a very rare and precious oil which has been used for centuries by the Berber tribes of Morocco. Its secret properties, which have enhanced the beauty of Moroccan Women for thousands of years, have in more recent times been discovered in other European countries such as France, the centre of the beauty world, where it is now well known for its cosmetic benefits.

Think of Argan Oil as food for your skin. You will be well aware of the need for your body to be nourished with vitamins and minerals. The same is true for your skin which, in the modern age, may suffer deprivation of its natural oils and nutrition because of environmental stresses and the over use of makeup, which in turn deprives your skin of the necessary levels of collagen and hydration.

Argan Oil is extremely rich in vitamins (particularly vitamin E) and is unrivalled by any natural and manmade product in providing its unique blend of natural oils, minerals and fatty acids. Simply Argan helps repair damaged and maintains healthy skin, protects against free radicals and nurtures hair, nails and lips.

Argan Oil is renowned as the natural anti-ageing cosmetic product. It is rich in freulic acids, eight essential fatty acids, carotenoids, anti- oxidants, sterols, saponins and polyphones. It also contains very high levels of vitamin E which is essential for the skin. It even contains Squalene which has been reported to protect against skin cancer . It is this unique blend of natural, rare and essential components that makes Simply Argan work wonders, maintains your body’s radiance and turns back time! Simply Argan works by nourishing and moisturising your skin with pure unadulterated Argan Oil, containing absolutely no artificial colouring, preservatives or perfumes.

The anti-ageing properties of Argan Oil are well documented with its unique blend of properties restoring the skin’s lipid layer and thereby improving the skin’s health and beauty. Free radicals are eradicated from the body by the oil’s natural anti-oxidant properties which are essential in protecting the skin against the rigours of today’s society.

Argan Oil is obtained from the kernels of the Argan tree which is now virtually only found in the Argan forest of South West Morocco, a tiny area in world terms.

How to Use Argan Oil

Simply Argan should be massaged into the skin, hair, nails and lips as a matter of routine. It is non greasy and absorbs well into the skin.

Only a small quantity about 2-3 drops is required which should be warmed in clean hands and gently massaged into the required area in an upward and outward circular motion on the skin with the fingertips, with care taken in applying around the eyes and other sensitive areas.

Simply Argan Oil is fantastic as a moisturiser and night cream!

For a luxury bath about 2-5ml of Simply Argan should be a added to some water before the bath is fully filled to ensure an equal consistency in the water.

For stretch marks, eczema, chicken pox, acne, psoriasis, scars, inflammation, arthritis and joint pain massage more generous amounts into affected areas.

For dry and damaged hair, or to reduce frizziness and improve the natural shine of your hair, simply rub a small amount into the hair starting at the roots and massage to the ends. Leave on for about 30 minutes and then shampoo out on either wet or dry hair. For damaged or very dry hair you can leave it on overnight. (I used it as a serum on wet hair, spreading a few drops warmed in my palms and spread through wet hair before blow drying. No more Sheep Hair!)

RECOMMENDED BEAUTY PRODUCTS

Now it's been a little while since I've written about beauty but today I am recommending a few products.

The first one is strip lashes I discovered this site recently and I cannot recommend their products highly enough.

http://buyeyelashes.co.uk/en/

The prices are fantastic and the eyelashes are great. Now I wear lashes a lot and have done for years plus I have used many different products having been a college lecturer teaching beauty therapy and these are my favourite strip lashes. Priced at £1.99 you cannot go wrong, if you take care of them you can use the same pair dozens of times and I'm not joking the adhesive I am using is non latex and it doesn't clog up the lashes and ruin them and again available here

click here to visit the site

The price for the adhesive is only £0.99 and a little goes a long way.

This is one site I have bookmarked and will be returning to again and again.

The other product I am recommending is from Mac Prep+Prime line filler I think this is one of the best products I have come across and a lot cheaper and safer than Botox. Having said that prevention is better than cure if you take care of your skin by not smoking and staying out of the sun, drinking plenty of water and balanced diet and watching stress levels you will minimise wrinkles, at £15 it's well worth it as you only use a tiny amount and pat it into the lines over make up

A primer used post-foundation, pre-makeup to camouflage, soften and relax expression lines and wrinkles. Applies as a dense cream: dries to a transparent, smooth, natural matte finish. With ongoing use, clinically proven to help rejuvenate your look.

RECOMMENDATIONS MAC 'PREP AND PRIME

SHOP MAC

I haven't done a beauty blog for a while, as I've been busy with my books lately, so time I wrote something!.

It's no secret that I am 55, and I do practice what I preach on this site for I firmly believe if you take a holistic view of your health your beauty will shine through. This of course means eating correctly after all your body needs the correct nutrients to do it's job and repair itself. It also needs a bit of help from you that you help prevent damage from too much sun and you take steps to deal with stress and you will find articles about healthy eating and taking care of your skin and stress at the tabs at the top of the page here.

Now you can't get to middle age without some of that living showing on your face, its inevitable but you can lessen the effects. Little things like wearing shades in the sun to avoid squinting and encouraging lines around the eyes and frowning. You can of course go down the Botox route if you so wish, but it is expensive, it only lasts around 3 months and it is a poison and allergy is common. The effects of this however are that you will have an expressionless face and that's fine if you are a doll but not as a human being with all the emotions, laughter lines  are much better than frown lines and show what a delightful fun person you are, so I wouldn't worry too much about the odd laughter line or two.

Since I am a great avocate for Holistic living, I don't use Botox nor have I had any face lifts, I don't feel the need to and I have my parents to thank for the genes, I inherited from them.

So the reason for this blog today is I have to sing the praises for this marvellous Mac product PREP AND LINE FILLER. A primer used post-foundation, pre-makeup to camouflage, soften and relax expression lines and wrinkles. Applies as a dense cream: dries to a transparent, smooth, natural matte finish. With ongoing use, clinically proven to help rejuvenate your look. This really does make a difference and if you don't believe me, apply to half of your face only, you will notice. How to apply it, its best patting it gently into the lines, it dries quickly and voila result!

ANTIWRINKLE CREAM REVIEW

I can safely say this about all so called anti wrinkle creams THEY DO NOT WORK. I will explain why: NOTHING CAN PENETRATE THE TOP LAYER OF THE SKIN THE EPIDERMIS EXCEPT MEDICATIONS, DRUGS DELIVERED BY ADHESIVE PATCHES AND ESSENTIAL OILS, THAT IS FACT. Ask any Dermatologist and he/she will tell you the same thing. If these so called anti wrinkle creams were to achieve what they claim, they would have to be licensed as a medication.

The Epidermis consists of 5 layers and is designed to be tough and waterproof, it needs to be, think about it if you were to hop into a bath if you weren't waterproof you would absorb the water. The upper layers contain a tough protein called Keratin and this Upper Layer has no blood supply only the lowest layer of the 5 layers of the epidermis receives any nourishment through tissue fluid, the fluid you see within a blister. It is the true skin, the Dermis that contains all the nerve endings, blood vessels and collagen and elastin, it is collagen and elastin that gives our skin elasticity and firmness, through time, the specialised cells, Fibroblasts, that produce collagen and elastin, slow down, this can be further exacerbated by how we treat our skin, smoking, too much sun and UV light and stress damage these specialised cells. When we are young the collagen and elastin fibres lie neatly in flat interlocking rows, however, through movement, wrinkling our brows, squinting in bright light and of course the effects of gravity and free radicals (free radicals are pollution and the atmosphere) causes these neat rows to bunch up leading to indentations and wrinkles, see diagram above. So I'm afraid ladies there is no point in spending a vast amount on so called anti wrinkle cream.

This does not mean you cannot do anything about this, you can prevent and slow the process down. Now apart from collagen and elastin plumping our skin up, the skin contains a lot of moisture and through the process of evaporation we constantly are losing fluid from the skin, so we can add moisture to the epidermis this will plump up this upper layer but unfortunately it cannot plump up a wrinkle. Moisturisers that contain a little oil will further stop and trap moisture in the skin and ideally it should be a vegetable oil base, such as grapeseed, sweet almond etc as these oils won't seal and block the pores leading to blackheads and blocked pores that can form spots. Many of the cheap facial moisturisers and even some of the expensive ones contain liquid paraffin, which is a by product of the oil industry, these can block the pores, this type of oil is fine for the body but not for the face so read the labels. You don't see it so much in skin creams these days as its a well known allergen and that is lanolin which is in fact 'Sheep sebum'

So the solution ladies and men too, is to use a good moisturiser, don't squint, get your eyesight checked so you can see properly, wear shades in bright light for the same reason. Eat a good balanced diet so your skin gets all the nutrients it needs. Don't smoke as nicotine constricts blood vessels thus nutrients to the skin, avoid stress or have some sort of relaxation therapy as adrenalin  also constricts the blood vessels and hormones such as the corticotrophic hormones, produced when stressed damage the fibroblasts that manufacture collagen and elastin. Lastly avoid too much UV light as this too damages collagen and elastin as UV light can penetrate the dermis. Remember too dry skin that doesn't produce enough sebum, oil, does line quicker than oily skin, which retains moisture. You do not have to spend a fortune on so called anti wrinkle creams. Vitamin E oil is a well known anti oxidant vitamin therefore its good at protecting the skin from 'free radicals' and under my Aromatherapy section under Holistic therapies I have a recipe for a cheap essential oil based skin cream that can make a difference.

I did come across this website http://www.topwrinklecreams.com/ and the only truthful thing it states on the site is "95% of all Wrinkle Creams simply do not WORK!" and even that is not entirely truthful, I will say 100% don't work, what they want you to do is buy their products which they claim do work. I'm sorry to say they won't, for if they could do all they claim they would have to be licensed as a medication, which of course they are not.

AROMATHERAPY ANTI-AGEING FACE CREME

RECIPE FOR AROMATHERAPY ANTI AGEING/ANTI WRINKLE FACE CREME
Before using any new product particularly on the skin its a good idea to patch test on a tiny area where you wish to apply it and leave it unwashed and alone for 48 hours, if there is no reaction then its safe to go ahead and use the product.
WARNING THIS RECIPE MUST NOT BE USED BY PREGNANT/NURSING WOMEN, THOSE SUFFERING FROM EPILEPSY OR CHILDREN
Aromatherapy oils MUST NOT BE USED UNDILUTED and for the face the dilution is 1%, this is because the face is close to the nose and therefore the limbic system.

For this recipe you will need a base creme and its best to obtain one from an aromatherapy supplier as they are designed to be used for blending. The active ingredients in this recipe are the essential oils themselves and not the base creme.

Essential oils
Frankincense
On the skin this oil helps regenerate helps smooth out wrinkles, it has a firming action, and helps balance sebum levels. The ancient Egyptians used this essential oil in mummification, therefore if it helped preservation it makes sense that it will help preserve the skin.

Lavender
Helps promote new cells again has a balancing effect on the skin and speeds up healing, so its especially effective at dealing with break outs.

Patchouli
This essential oil is also a good skin oil, particularly for rough dry areas and soothing for inflammed areas.

You will also require the contents of a Vitamin E capsule or a few drops of wheatgerm oil (which is high in Vitamin E) this extends the shelf life of the creme but more importantly Vitamin E is a powerful anti free radical agent and helps sooth the skin.

This creme is best used at night however if used during the day you would require the addition of a sun protection factor as UVA light ages the skin (see earlier articles on the skin)

To make a 1% dilution the ratio is as follows 1drop of essential oil to 100 drops of carrier oil/creme

1% dilutions
  • 5 ml:1 drops
  • 10 ml:2 drops
  • 15 ml:3 drops
  • 20 ml:4 drops
  • 25 ml:5 drops
  • 30 ml:6 drops
Therefore if you use a 30 ml jar of base creme you will need 6 drops of essential oil in total so for this recipe add 2 drops each of Frankincense, Lavender and Patchouli, add the contents of the Vitamin E capsule and stir well with a clean spatula. The preparation should last for 3 months and should be kept in a cool place out of direct sunlight.

BEAUTY ON A BUDGET (A review on E.L.F.)

For those of you who know me, you will know apart from being a Psychic Medium and writing books, I used to be a college lecturer in Beauty Therapy and Holistic therapies, I trained therapists who came from all over the world and many of them went on to open spa's internationally. Now my personal preference is MAC but it can be expensive if you want to experiment or as a student who wants to obtain a large range. I have started using E.L.F. Cosmetics and I love their philosophy "Beauty comes from feeling and looking your best. an inner confidence that translates to the outer world as attractiveness." It's very much as my own and my reason and philosophy for beginning this site here. Of course I take and even more holistic route and going further than cosmetics, however cosmetics make a woman feel good and give her confidence, so it's with pleasure to discover the range of their products. Their brushes are excellent value and professional quality and they have a wide range.

Their range of colour cosmetics and palates are brilliant. OK you wont get the fancy packaging but the quality of the products are excellent, finely milled unlike some other cheaper brands and very blendable and long lasting. Lipsticks are £1.50 and their waterproof pen eyeliner you won't be able to fault it and I use their products myself, so I've tried and tested them. I'll still periodically use MAC as I love the luxury of it and the packaging but with the way the economy is going we are going to see and hear a lot more from E.L.F.

PSYCHIC QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

PSYCHIC QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE TO FORECAST THE FUTURE AND OTHER QUESTIONS?

I am often asked various questions pertaining to the spirit world and various aspects of the psychic, here are some of them: I will in time feature more questions and answers as this webpage evolves

Q. Is a psychic or medium a fortune teller?
A. It may surprise you to know psychics and mediums are not fortune tellers
Q. Is it possible to forecast the future?
A.Well not 100% and this is because of free will.
Q. What is free will?
A. Free will is YOUR right to decide what you want to do about a situation, it is a choice
Q. How does free will affect a situation?
A. Well before we incarnate as Spirit in a human body, we decide on what experiences and challenges that will benefit our spiritual growth. However we are given the choice (free will) as to whether we go through with the experience or challenge. In effect we are allowed to change or mind.
Q. So are you saying we all know what lies before us?
A. Well in a way we all do. Remember we are 'Spirit' in a human body and your spirit does retain a memory but it is deep in our subconscious. This memory is retained deeply for a reason to help us fulfill our experiences and challenges we ourselves chose. However it is also at this deep level so we are not so aware. If you knew what lay before you would you go through with it? Probably not but we still retain this memory deeply and this reflects in our Aura.
Q. So what is the Aura?
A.The aura is The Aura is an electromagnetic field that surrounds living bodies, this includes people, animals, plants and crystals and is composed of several layers that are constantly moving. The Aura links us to whats known as Universal energy i.e. that is all the knowledge in the Universe past, present and future. It is on this aura that psychics are able to tap into and access your past, whats going on in the present and the possible future and I say possible specifically if your goal or desire is dependent on other people, for remember every person involved in a situation has free will.
