I am a great believer in Karma, but just what is it? Karma comes from the Sanskrit and ancient Indian Language with the underlying principal that every deed in our lives will affect our future life. For example, if we treat others badly during our lifetime we will have negative experiences later on in that lifetime or in future lifetimes. Likewise, if we treat others well we will be rewarded by positive experiences.

SMOKING IS MORE DEADLY AND ADDICTIVE THAN IT WAS 50 YEARS AGO

The article below is from the Daily Mail below. We should all know by now that smoking is bad for us, however the charity "The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids" has discovered the lengths tobacco companies are going to make sure smoking is highly addictive

Why smoking is more deadly and addictive  than it was 50 years ago: Charity reveals the underhand tactics tobacco companies now use to make sure we’re hooked

  • Chemicals added to cigarettes to ensure addiction, make smoke easier to inhale, reduce harshness and increase the speed nicotine hits the brain
  • Today's smokers have a higher risk of lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease than in 1964 despite smoking fewer cigarettes

Cigarettes are more dangerous than ever due to a wealth of tactics adopted by tobacco companies over the last 50 years, a charity has warned.
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids has produced a revealing infographic which lays out exactly how cigarettes have changed in the last five decades.
Doctors at the charity say that cigarettes today pose an even greater risk of disease than those sold in 1964 when the first warning about the health dangers came from the Surgeon General in the U.S.

Deadlier than ever: The report illustrates how cigarettes have changed over the last 50 years
Deadlier than ever: The report illustrates how cigarettes have changed over the last 50 years

The charity's research is based on a review of scientific studies and tobacco industry documents, as well as the Surgeon General's report.
It found that today's smokers have a much higher risk of lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease than in 1964  - despite smoking fewer cigarettes.

This is due to 'changes in the design and composition of cigarettes'.
The charity claims that over the past 50 years, tobacco manufacturers have designed and marketed ever more sophisticated products that are 'effective in creating and sustaining addiction to nicotine,' more appealing to new young smokers and much more harmful.
'They took a deadly and addictive product and made it worse, putting smokers at even greater risk of addiction, disease and death,' the report, Designed for Addiction, says.

The addictiveness of cigarettes has also been increased by raising nicotine levels.
The report claims that manufacturers also add ammonia, which increases the speed which nicotine is delivered to the brain .
Another tactic is to add sugars, which increase the addictive effects of nicotine and make it easier to inhale tobacco smoke.
Cigarettes today deliver nicotine more quickly from the lungs to the heart and brain.
And by altering the taste and smell of cigarettes, tobacco manufacturers have made it easier for people to start and continue smokin.
They have also made tobacco smoke less harsh by adding levulinic acid. This makes the smoke feel smoother and less irritating.
The report states: '[It is] clear that tobacco products – and cigarettes in particular
– are highly engineered to expand the appeal of these products and facilitate
the consumption of and addiction to nicotine, a highly addictive drug.
'Tobacco companies also know that almost all new smokers begin their addiction as
children and that smoking is distasteful for new smokers, so they carefully
design the product to appeal to this important market.
'The companies have spent huge sums to research the design of their products and ensure they
achieve these goals, even if the impact of these changes also makes the product more dangerous.'

Understanding Pain: What to do about it in less than five minutes?

I came across this helpful video by way of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association, being that I am a TN sufferer myself. It does apply to all chronic pain however. Reiki works well with me as being a reiki master, I can reiki myself when necessary and that helps me through the worst attacks by helping me relax as when you are tense pain is felt much more.

TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA

Trigeminal neuralgia is sudden, severe facial nerve pain. It's often referred as the "suicide disease" because of the significant numbers of people taking their own lives before effective treatments were discovered.  Trigeminal Neuralgia has been known now for centuries. It is probably one of the worst kinds of pains known to man. An estimated one in 15,000 people suffers from trigeminal neuralgia, although numbers may be significantly higher due to frequent misdiagnoses. Trigeminal neuralgia is relatively rare an estimated one million people worldwide suffer from trigeminal neuralgia. It usually develops after the age of 40 and affects women in a 2:1 ratio.

The pain in the face has been described as stabbing, piercing or like an electric shock. The intense pain can last from just a few seconds to two minutes each time and can last continuously for a couple of hours or so and random times during the day.

In most cases it only affects one side of the face (unilateral), more commonly the right side. Rarely, people with trigeminal neuralgia have pain on both sides of their face (bilateral).

In 80-90% of cases the pain is caused by pressure on the trigeminal nerve, the largest nerve inside the skull.

For more information on this debilitating ailment please follow the link here TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA or the tab at the top of the page it will take you to THE TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA ASSOCIATION UK WEBSITE.

The aim of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association UK is to offer support and encouragement to TN patients, their families and friends, and to provide information on treatments currently available as well as details of any advances being made in the management of this excruciatingly painful and debilitating condition. Another vital part of our work is to raise awareness amongst medical professionals, particularly GPs and dentists, regarding the diagnosis and treatment.

THE DANGERS OF ULTRA VIOLET LIGHT

The following article is from the Daily Mail and I'm posting this as its the time of year when people throw caution to the wind and at the first sign of sunshine lie out in it and toast themselves often without sun protection, which is crucial if you happen to have very fair skin. I've written many times about the dangers of UV light on this site follow the link below for more information on the dangers of UV light.

Teacher, 30, told the mole on his back was nothing to worry about is dying from more than 50 tumours which have now spread to his brain and heart

Series of failures by medics leaves father-of-one with terminal cancer
Father Jordi Akhurst spotted mole on his back in 2007 and went to GP
But hospital dermatologist twice told him there was nothing wrong
After doctor removed it 'as a favour' Mr Akhurst was found to have cancer
Following scans, experts then missed disease when it spread to his heart
He is now on 'last resort' drug and hoping to be given access to trials

Jordi Akhurst, 30, has been left with more than 50 tumours around his body after doctors dismissed his concerns about a mole on his back
A teacher has been left with terminal cancer after doctors refused to remove a suspicious mole from his back for nine months.
Jordi Akhurst, 30, sought medical help after spotting the worrying blemish on his skin - but was repeatedly told there was nothing wrong.
Over the next six months, the spot started to bleed and crack but a dermatologist insisted it was benign.
His GP finally agreed to remove the mole because of Mr Akhurst's worries and sent off samples for routine analysis.
Within days the father-of-one's worst fears were confirmed when hospital staff broke the news that he had skin cancer.
The cancer has since spread to his brain, heart, adrenal glands and lymph nodes, leaving him with more than 50 tumours around his body.
Experts say spotting the disease as early as possible is key to surviving cancer but Mr Akhurst, dad to a five-year-old son, Luca, says experts repeatedly botched his diagnosis.
The maths teacher, from Plymouth, Devon, said: 'I started going to the doctor about a mole on my back in 2007.
'My GP said they don't remove them anymore and I was referred to a dermatologist at Derriford Hospital [in Plymouth] who said there was nothing wrong with it and he would leave it and see how it went.
'Three months later all the original problems were still there. It kept bleeding and it was bleeding so often it wouldn't be long before there was a blood mark on my shirt and I would have to change.
'This was happening every day. I wasn't too worried - it was more annoying than anything else.

'Six months later the dermatologist said it seemed unchanged and it was all fine.'
Mr Akhurst wasn't happy with the diagnosis and went back to his doctor, who once more referred him to a dermatologist.
Mr Akhurst shows the scar left from the removal of the original mole which doctors dismissed

He said: 'I went back to my GP after nine months because I wasn't happy and I wanted it taking off.
'She referred me to the dermatologist again and he was quite insistent he wasn't going to remove it.
'It was black, raised, cracked and bleeding - you don't have to be an expert in skin cancer to know something wasn't right.
'I wasn't panicked at all. I just thought it was a case of getting rid of it.

'I'm 30 and have a terminal illness - it's all very well if you're 70 but I was hoping for another 40 years of life ahead of me.'

    Cancer sufferer Jordi Akhurst

'My GP ended up removing it as a favour. They're obliged to send it away for tests and a week later I had a phone call from the hospital in a complete state of panic.
'I went in and was put in a room with a few people who were extremely apologetic, including a specialist cancer nurse and the dermatologist, who I haven't seen since.
'At the time my son was being born so I just wanted anything that needed to happen to happen so I could get on with my life.'
Nine months after his original visit to the GP, Mr Akhurst was finally admitted for surgery on his back.
He said: 'They did the first operation and they weren't happy with the lesions and felt there was more they could have chopped out.
'I had a second and then third operation. They kept having to open up the scar and search for more and more.
'I went from being told there was nothing wrong to having this giant scar. In the following months I went for check ups but I felt they were quite brief and a bit useless.'
A dermatologist at Plymouth's Derriford Hospital said there was nothing wrong with the original mole
A dermatologist at Plymouth's Derriford Hospital said there was nothing wrong with the original mole

After the three operations in 2007 to remove the infected tissue, Mr Akhurst hoped he had beaten the disease, but in January last year he noticed some new lumps.
By the time the results came back on April 15 last year it had reached his adrenal glands, which are at the top of the kidneys and his lymph nodes.

REGIONAL THREAT - SKIN CANCER RISKS IN THE SOUTH WEST

Figures show there are around 10,000 new cases of skin cancer every year and it's the fastest growing cancer for 18 to 30-year-olds.
One in four diagnosed with melanoma, the most serious form of the disease, do not survive beyond five years.
Mr Akhurst's plight emerged after shock figures revealed that the number of new cases in Devon and Cornwall is double the UK average.
According to a new campaign from Public Health England (PHE) you are twice as likely to fall prey to the disease if you live in the two counties.
But the heath group is urging anyone who spots anything strange on their skin to see their GP.
PHE centre director, Professor Debra Lapthorne, said: 'The campaign message is clear, if you notice any unusual or persistent changes to your skin, you should visit your doctor.'
He was diagnosed as being Stage 4 - which is terminal.
Mr Akhurst was given pneumotherapy, which he said was hailed as a 'wonder drug', but didn't well respond to the treatment.
The Bristol University classics graduate added: 'I was going up to the hospital every three weeks for four months and being put on a drip.
'Even though it didn't work I felt well enough to carry on with my job and my day to day life.
'They left me for two to three months to see how I was and after a scan they found the cancer had spread to my heart.
'Doctors told me it was untreatable and any treatment would leave a hole in my heart. They said the tumour was new and it had grown quickly.
'I had a specialist heart scan and it found the tumour wasn't new - it had been missed on previous scans and was actually treatable.
'Despite all this I was still well, but I became ill in February this year. I was behaving quite strangely and couldn't do simple things like use my phone.
'I found out I had 10 new brain tumours so the disease had progressed quite severely.'
Mr Akhurst is now taking Zelboraf - the last of the licensed drugs he is able to take.
If he doesn't respond after six months he will try to take part in clinical trials to be able to use unlicensed treatments.
He said: 'It is very toxic and doesn't make you feel great. After this six months there is no more treatment. The best case scenario is that by the time I stop responding I would be put on a drug trial.'
Mr Akhurst is now urging anyone who sees something unusual on their skin to see their doctor. File photo
Mr Akhurst is now urging anyone who sees something unusual on their skin to see their doctor.
He added: 'I would be very happy to take part in trials. They said I have between one and five years when I was diagnosed in April last year.
'I'm 30 and have a terminal illness - it's all very well if you're 70 but I was hoping for another 40 years of life ahead of me.
'I didn't realise it would spread to where it has or so aggressively and quickly.
'I was quite resentful to be honest - there's a slight injustice in it. I know people are dying of cancer all over the world but when you're 30 you think you have lots of time left.
'There's nothing I did to contribute to it. I didn't sun worship or get burnt.
'I want people to know that skin cancer exists. I had a mole and I had it removed and I really thought that was as far as it would go.
'I don't want to be an anti-sun bed person and they're not part of my story but if people could think twice about using them and use sun cream - whether it's factor five or 50 - just think about it and use some protection.'

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN WHEN COMMUNICATIONS OF ALL SORTS GO AWRY

This time Mercury enters retrograde from June 7th 2014 until July 1st 2014.

When Mercury goes into retrograde all communication is affected one way or another, not just between people in relationships, but mail, transport, computers, phones, you name it, things can become difficult, delayed, mail gets lost. So if you have anything that needs signing do it now or delay things until after July 1st. This is generally a busy time for me with clients with relationship problems. if you find yourself in this scenario, DON'T overreact, hang fire and count to ten, the difficulties will pass at least this time it's just around three weeks.

For those who don't understand what Mercury Retrograde is:

An apparent backward motion of the planets is called a "retrograde" motion. It occurs in several stages. At first the planet seems to stand still, then it backs up through the signs, stands still again, and then resumes its forward motion. The amount of time that a planet spends in retrograde motion depends on the planet's orbit, varying from about twenty-two days for nearby Mercury to about 160 days for distant Pluto.

When Mercury is retrograde, it is considered to be a time of problems with interaction, travel and even the simple basic workings of things. It is also thought that the general averse aspects of a retrograde planetary motion carry over into the lives of the people born under them as a part of their lifetime astrological chart.

PSYCHIC VAMPIRES ~ SOMEONE WHO DRAINS YOU

You may have heard of the term ‘Psychic Vampires’ and it’s unlike the fictional characters of Vampires who suck the blood of their victims portrayed in films etc. There is a connection however, in this connotation the ‘Vampire’ is sucking and leeching something and it pertains to ‘Psychic’ energy.

We all know about these characters, we have all met them from time to time, the relative, the work colleague or the friend. I use the term friend loosely as a psychic vampire is not a true friend.

Psychic vampires suck the energy out of others, some may not be even aware they are doing this, but I maintain if they had any sort of conscious they would realise and not do this to others. The so called friend, who dumps all their tales of woe on to you, more than happy to tell you all about themselves and all their problems. They are very needy characters in general and self centred, so wrapped up in themselves, who think the world revolved around themselves.

A healthy relationship is a two way process, there is give and take from both parties, equally they can exchange problems but equally they support and listen. Psychic vampires don’t listen, they seem oblivious to anyone else, so happy to dump all their problems on someone else, but don’t listen when that someone has troubles of their own.

When we are going through problems there is often a lot of negative energy attached, negative energy pulls us down and exhausts us, it affects our psyche, our aura causing it to shrink back and this affects the efficacy of our chakras, compounding further stress, immune and health problems. So if a psychic vampire comes along with their tales of woe they dump all this negative energy on to you. I’m sure you know and have experienced this, the so called friend dumps all their problems on to you, you listen, the so called friend feels better having got rid of their negative energy on to you and you are left feeling exhausted and drained.  There is a natural series of laws within the Universe where there is a constant source of energy exchange. e.g. the psychic vampire dumps negative energy onto the listener at the same time leeches positive energy from the listener, so they go away feeling the better for it and you the listener has had all your positivity sucked from you.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t exchange problems and don’t listen, far from it, but there should be a sharing, a give and take on both sides.

So what can we do to protect ourselves? Well various crystals around us can help (There is a section on psychic protection elsewhere on this site giving details) and we can form a protective barrier around ourselves psychically, by visualising we are surrounded in a sealed bubble of golden light, but this has to be kept up constantly and sometimes the psychic vampire is leeching so much even this doesn’t work. We can try giving them a hint, more often this doesn’t work as they are wrapped up in themselves, or tell them politely, and even this sometimes doesn’t work, so what can you do? When it gets to this stage, the relationship is in danger of becoming toxic to you, its draining and exhausting especially if you have problems of your own, so the only way is distancing yourself from the psychic vampire. Sometimes if they have any conscious that will jolt them into realising what they are doing, if it doesn’t and this won’t work with particularly self centred individuals, the only thing left to do, is to make a clean break and walk away from this toxic relationship for your own good, for how can you deal with your own problems or help others if your health and well being is being affected by the sheer exhaustion of the psychic vampire leeching all your positive energy.

    I'VE BEEN TOLD I'M PSYCHIC-HOW CAN I DO READINGS?

    MY AURA

I am often asked I've been told I'm psychic, another medium told me this, how can I go about doing what you do and do readings?

Most of the time its often a psychic on a premium line has told them this, or they have misinterpreted what they have been told.

A common misinterpretation is many people don't know the difference between a psychic and a medium and confuse the two. Everyone of us has a potential to develop our psychic abilities as it's one of our natural senses, animals have retained theirs for they use it regularly for survival, and this is what we have this sense for. Over our evolution as human beings we no longer had to make use of it, so we stopped using it  (most people have) you may like to call this sense intuition but intuition and psychic are one and the same.

Mediums on the other hand work on a different vibration they are able to communicate with disincarnates i.e. spirit, people who have passed on from this life on earth. Not everyone has this ability it is achieved through many lifetimes by souls who have evolved to a spiritual level, they understand the rules of the Universe and have gone through many tough challenges in their many lifetimes, experiencing situations from all sides and understand the concept of unconditional love and thus been gifted this from Spirit. Mediums are also psychic as they have evolved through this vibration to the higher one enabling them to communicate with the spiritual beings that reside there.

Psychics are able to tap into the Auric field that surrounds all living things, this is an electromagnetic field of different layers and it contains details of our past, our present, and our potential future. This is how they do their readings. The confusion from the public arises as the client has been given details of someone who has passed over, so they think the psychic is able to communicate with this person's spirit, however your auric field can contain such details. They go on to say that an event will happen as the psychic can obtain details from the clients aura and its assumed this is coming from the deceased spirit.

Psychics need to tap into a clients vibration to do a reading, whether, its their voice vibration, a photograph, a piece of jewellery or writing as they are picking up feelings from this. Mediums do not need to have this direct link at all, for they communicate totally differently and often work with spirit guides and helpers to act as an intermediator between the client's own guides, and yes we all have guides in spirit to help us through life, instilling guidance and strength to help us through our lifetimes challenges. I have been asked who is my guide? well we don't always have one many are transient to help us with different situations.

Coming back to the original question, of how can I become a psychic and do readings? Well it is something that needs work and guidance, often this can take many years, many develop on their own to a certain extent but eventually its going to need guidance from an experienced Medium and teacher, this isn't something you can achieve through Skype, internet or books alone but in a regular circle with kindred souls and be willing to be dedicated often for years, it won't happen overnight. Whether you will become a medium well that is up to spirit who will judge if you have achieved the criteria of lessons necessary to understand the Universal laws.

As for becoming a psychic and reading for the public there are many codes of conduct and ethics to master and good counselling skills are necessary. We all have personal responsibility, what you say to a client can have an effect on the client, some good, but many can have a detrimental effect and just because money doesn't change hands, if you are doing this for free, don't for a moment think you are not responsible for a consequence that may happen as a direct result of what you have said to a client,  you are responsible for everything you say and in this day and age where there is a society willing to proceed with litigation this is very important.

These skills cannot be achieved overnight, if often takes many years and there are no guarantees you will ever be good enough to read for the public no matter how many years you put in.

A final note there are as many bad psychics as good out there and with the bad ones they don't seem to realise the concept of their actions and have personal responsibility for what they say, who is to say they are correct in their interpretation of what they see in reading for a client? If you are meant to go on to develop and use this ability, it will happen for it will have been planned before you incarnated on this earth, if its not in your destiny, it won't no matter how hard you want this.

    NATURAL AND OLD FASHIONED REMEDIES

Since this is essentially a Holistic Webpage and because I strongly believe in Holistic Medicine I came across this article. I've featured Honey more than once as a remedy for ailments in the past and this article reinforces this.

This article is from the Daily Mail and extracted from a book "Old-fashioned Remedies — From Arsenic To Gin" by Dr Rob Hicks.

Got a nasty insect bite? TEABAGS could be the answer says GP, who reveals natural remedies to all your holiday health woes

    • Dr Rob Hicks, a London GP, says most ailments can be treated naturally
    • Honey can be used on minor wounds as the sugar can kill bacteria
    • Cucumber soothes sunburn, ginger tackles travel sickness and bananas kill a hangover
Holidays are a much longed-for time to relax and you don’t want them ruined by a health complaint. Yet few of us have room to pack a first-aid kit. Here, Dr Rob Hicks, a London GP, offers his DIY tips for dealing with everyday medical problems.
HONEY OR SUGAR FOR MINOR WOUNDS
For centuries honey has been used to treat skin wounds and burns
For centuries honey has been used to treat skin wounds and burns
Small grazes or cuts can become infected, especially in hot climates where bacteria can flourish.
For centuries honey has been used to treat skin wounds and burns and is now used in hospitals around the globe to deal with skin infections.
Honey helps kill the bacteria that may cause infection. When honey comes into contact with damaged skin, it triggers the production of antibacterial hydrogen peroxide.
Furthermore, the sugars in honey mean there is little space for water molecules (bacteria need water to survive, so reducing the amount available makes it hard for them to thrive). Dabbing on honey or a sprinkling of sugar can deprive the bacteria of water, which ultimately destroys them.
After washing hands thoroughly, clean the wound, dab a little honey on it and cover with a clean dressing. Any honey will do — you don’t need to use the expensive kind.
Alternatively, sprinkle on sugar. To prevent spillage, smear a thin coating of petroleum jelly around the wound first.
These ‘sweet’ treatments can be reapplied a couple of times a day.
If the injured area becomes red, hot, painful, or discharges pus, or if fever occurs, seek medical advice straight away as this may indicate an infection.
    TEABAGS FOR  INSECT BITES
A bite from a gnat, midge, mosquito or even an ant will normally cause a red lump with a hole in the middle — this then turns itchy as the bite can provoke a mild allergy-like reaction. As a result chemicals called histamines are released into the surrounding skin, which is what gives us the maddening urge to itch.
While bites themselves are rarely a problem, this itch can be, as scratching can break the skin and introduce infection that, in turn, leads to potential problems such as scarring.
There are endless possible treatments, but two of my favourites are teabags and oatmeal.
Steep a few teabags in boiling water for ten minutes, allow to cool and then apply the liquid to the sting site using a cloth. This helps to relieve inflammation as tannins in the tea are astringent, so reduce the swelling.
Alternatively, mix uncooked oatmeal and water into a paste and apply to the itchy area directly, or put the paste into a muslin cloth and hold to the skin.
Oatmeal can help reduce inflammation and has a calming, cooling effect on the bite.
Steep a few teabags in boiling water for ten minutes, allow to cool and apply liquid to the insect bite using a cloth. It helps to relive inflammation

Steep a few teabags, left, in boiling water for ten minutes, allow to cool and apply liquid to the insect bite using a cloth. It will help to relive inflammation of the sting
    BICARBONATE OF SODA FOR CYSTITIS
Variously called sodium bicarbonate, baking soda, or simply ‘bicarb’, it’s good to have a small tub of this in your travel bag.
On holiday, exposure to chemicals such as the chlorine in the swimming pool can irritate the area where urine leaves the body (the urethra) and can trigger cystitis in women. Essentially, this is inflammation of the bladder and can lead to a burning sensation when you pass urine.
There are other factors that can make it a common holiday ailment: heat and alcohol can dehydrate the body, making the bladder more prone to inflammation; ‘holding on’ when it’s inconvenient to go to the toilet, or facilities are unavailable, can also contribute.
Bicarb is alkaline, so drinking half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda stirred into a glass of water several times a day helps as it makes urine less acidic and less likely to cause stinging.
It won’t reduce the inflammation in the bladder but it will reduce the pain while the inflammation goes down.
If symptoms don’t improve after a couple of days, or if you have a fever, blood in the urine or loin pain, seek medical advice straight away.
    CUCUMBER FOR SUNBURN
Sunburn can occur in as little as 20 minutes. But you may not even know you have been burnt until five hours later when the damage done will come out as red inflamed patches of skin.
Cucumber, a well-known soothing remedy for tired and sore eyes, can also help bring relief to sore, sunburned skin.
This is because it contains vitamin C and caffeic acid (an antioxidant also found in coffee) which both have anti-inflammatory effects that help reduce the irritation of sunburn.

While many foods contains vitamin C, it’s the combination of these compounds that works best — together with the cooling effects of the cucumber, especially if it’s been in the fridge.
For small areas of skin, slices of cool cucumber can be put straight on. If larger areas are affected, it may be more practical to grind cucumber into a paste using a blender or fork, then apply.
To make it less messy, you can hold it in place with a sterile dressing and keep it there for as long as is needed.
    BANANAS FOR HANGOVER
Drinking won’t just dehydrate you (because alcohol is a diuretic), many people also feel light-headed and woozy the morning after.
This is because normally the liver releases glucose into the bloodstream. But when the liver is busy processing alcohol, this doesn’t happen, which can lead to low blood sugar levels.
While drinking plenty of water can rehydrate you, a banana helps raise depleted sugar levels — the reason being that it has a low glycaemic index. This means the sugar it contains is released slowly.
While a biscuit, for example, would raise blood sugar, it would do it quickly, so the body would release a flood of insulin to quickly reduce blood sugar levels.
This sudden fall in blood sugar would leave you feeling just as bad as you had before. The banana would give a more sustained recovery. A banana is also gentle on the stomach, which may be irritated by the alcohol.
      CAMOMILE TEA FOR SORE EYES
Tea, especially camomile, is a particularly good choice for swollen and irritated eyes, whether caused by lack of sleep, allergies or simply sand.
Camomile contains anti-irritant compounds such as terpenoids, and flavonoids, a form of antioxidant that soothes inflammation.
Brew a cup of camomile tea. Remove the teabag and allow it to cool then place against closed eyes.
      GINGER FOR TRAVEL SICKNESS
Travel sickness is caused by conflicting information received by the brain from the ears about balance and from the eyes about what you see. This jumble of information triggers feelings of nausea and tummy upset when travelling in cars, boats and planes.
Ginger is used to relieve morning sickness in pregnancy and to help overcome the nausea associated with chemotherapy. Some scientific studies suggest that it can also help with motion sickness.
It’s believed that compounds called gingerols and shogaols — which give ginger its spiciness — are what provide the benefits, possibly by blocking chemical messages in the brain, so helping to relax muscles in the stomach and gut.
How you take it is up to you, but popular ways include ginger tea, ginger biscuits and dried ginger

      THE DANGERS OF INEXPERIENCED PSYCHICS/MEDIUMS

Today I am blogging about inexperienced Psychics/Mediums. There are many psychics/mediums around who give the profession a bad name, trouble is a bad reading from a bad or inexperienced psychic/medium tars the rest of us with the same brush.

When embarking on this pathway each of us has personal responsibility, irrespective of what we feel is correct. How do we know if the messages we relay are correct, have we heard and interpreted them correctly? Many psychics/mediums use clairsentience (sensing feelings) to pick up messages from spirit, this has to be put into words, this can change the meaning of the message entirely by the wrong choice of words. It is important we do not influence who we are reading for, nor must we alarm or cause distress, we must be sensitive to the recipient and be tactful. If you are not sure of what you are picking up, don’t say it either. We must also bear in mind nothing is written in stone and subject to change and its possible we could be wrong, the professional Psychic/ Medium will never foretell, death, nor illness, nor diagnose, for they are not doctors for this very reason.

Many so called psychics/mediums are unable to distinguish what energy level they are working with, psychic energy resonates at a lower level than spiritual energy, the two are entirely different. spiritual energy is how Mediums communicate with spirit, whereas psychic energy deals with the energy from the aura. The inexperienced medium will not validate the source of the message, this is extremely important for they could be relaying messages from lower elementals or from the dark side. When delivering messages from spirit it is essential we identify who the spirit is by gaining survival evidence i.e. evidence only the recipient would know, the character of the disincarnate, what they died from and names, dates as much information as you can to prove you are talking to someone the recipient recognises. Of course psychic/mediums do work with guides and the experienced will recognise when the message is coming from an established guide and when it is not. A reading should be constructed in such away, it answers the recipients queries and leaves the recipient calm. If a loved one in spirit has a message he/she will come forward, you cannot summon spirit or a specific spirit. The use of Ouija boards, planchettes is not recommended as these attract lower elementals and the dark side

It is also important psychic/mediums have counselling experience, and I don’t mean a few days training either but a proper professional course recognised by a professional authority, this is valuable as when relaying messages it is possible all manner of feelings in the recipient will emerge. Supposing the recipient was sexually abused as a child, would you know how to deal with this? I cannot stress enough do not read for anyone unless you know how to tactfully and sensitively deal with delicate situations. You cannot become a professional psychic/medium overnight, it takes time to gain experience and develop, sometimes years, of sitting in a development circle with an experienced medium, who’s valuable experience will guide you safely. Psychic intuition courses claiming to develop you over a period of 4 classes are to be avoided as you cannot gain the experience needed for this work in so short a time, especially to be avoided if large  course fees are needed, charlatan comes to mind when I hear of this. If you truly want to foliow this pathway, it takes dedication and time, it should not involve money. The spiritualist church or the National Union of Spiritualists can direct you to a development circle near you, where the only money involved is for refreshments at the end of the meeting

Too many inexperienced psychics/mediums do more harm than good, a good reading is when the recipient leaves you feeling better for seeing you and is uplifted. All too often I have heard of inexperienced psychics/mediums causing worry and anxiety that is very unprofessional and this causes the public to take a dim view of us in general, it only takes a few bad apples to destroy the reputation some of us who are striving towards to achieve professionalism.

      PSYCHIC QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

      PSYCHIC QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE TO FORECAST THE FUTURE AND OTHER QUESTIONS?

I am often asked various questions pertaining to the spirit world and various aspects of the psychic, here are some of them: I will in time feature more questions and answers as this webpage evolves

      Q. Is a psychic or medium a fortune teller?
      A. It may surprise you to know psychics and mediums are not fortune tellers
      Q. Is it possible to forecast the future?
A.Well not 100% and this is because of free will.
      Q. What is free will?
      A. Free will is YOUR right to decide what you want to do about a situation, it is a choice
      Q. How does free will affect a situation?
      A. Well before we incarnate as Spirit in a human body, we decide on what experiences and challenges that will benefit our spiritual growth. However we are given the choice (free will) as to whether we go through with the experience or challenge. In effect we are allowed to change or mind.
      Q. So are you saying we all know what lies before us?
      A. Well in a way we all do. Remember we are 'Spirit' in a human body and your spirit does retain a memory but it is deep in our subconscious. This memory is retained deeply for a reason to help us fulfill our experiences and challenges we ourselves chose. However it is also at this deep level so we are not so aware. If you knew what lay before you would you go through with it? Probably not but we still retain this memory deeply and this reflects in our Aura.
      Q. So what is the Aura?
A.The aura is The Aura is an electromagnetic field that surrounds living bodies, this includes people, animals, plants and crystals and is composed of several layers that are constantly moving. The Aura links us to whats known as Universal energy i.e. that is all the knowledge in the Universe past, present and future. It is on this aura that psychics are able to tap into and access your past, whats going on in the present and the possible future and I say possible specifically if your goal or desire is dependent on other people, for remember every person involved in a situation has free will.
