I am a great believer in Karma, but just what is it? Karma comes from the Sanskrit and ancient Indian Language with the underlying principal that every deed in our lives will affect our future life. For example, if we treat others badly during our lifetime we will have negative experiences later on in that lifetime or in future lifetimes. Likewise, if we treat others well we will be rewarded by positive experiences.

ASTRAL TRAVELLING, REMOTE VIEWING, PSYCHIC SPYING

Astral projection (or astral travel) is an interpretation of out-of-body experience (OBE) that assumes the existence of an "astral body" separate from the physical body and capable of traveling outside it. Astral projection or travel denotes the astral body leaving the physical body to travel in the astral plane.

The idea of astral travel is rooted in common worldwide religious accounts of the afterlife in which the consciousness' or soul's journey or "ascent" is described in such terms as "an...out-of body experience, wherein the spiritual traveller leaves the physical body and travels in his/her subtle body (or dream body or astral body) into ‘higher’ realms." It is therefore associated with near death experiences and is also frequently reported as spontaneously experienced in association with sleep and dreams, illness, surgical operations, drug experiences, sleep paralysis and forms of meditation.

It is sometimes attempted out of curiosity,or may be believed to be necessary to, or the result of, some forms of spiritual practice. It may involve "travel to higher realms" called astral planes but is commonly used to describe any sensation of being "out of the body" in the everyday world, even seeing one's body from outside or above. It may be reported in the form of an apparitional experience, a supposed encounter with a doppelgänger, some living person also seen somewhere else at the same time.

Through the 1960s and 70s, surveys reported percentages ranging from 8 percent to as many as 50 percent (in certain groups) of respondents who state they had such an experience. The subjective nature of the experience permits explanations that do not rely on the existence of an "astral" body and plane. There is little beyond anecdotal evidence to support the idea that people can actually "leave the body".

Whether this is the same as remote viewing as I know it, its difficult to explain. Remote viewing was using by the ***CIA at the height of the 'Cold War', whereby the CIA conducted experiments with psychics to practise 'Remote Viewing' as a precursor to spying on the 'Iron Block' countries. I discovered I had this ability purely through chance. I had had a few Out of Body Experiences, but what I term 'Remote Viewing' it does not mean actually leaving the body but rather sending out a tentacle of your aura and for want of a better word spying. I had been using this ability for sometime before I knew exactly what it was, until one day whilst on a course, I learned this ability was known as 'Remote Viewing'. Part of the exercise was to view others' homes within the group and I found I could see inside cupboards and wander round their home with 99% accuracy. I do not know how exactly I achieve this, its akin to letting your mind go floppy and take myself into a type of trance, so in effect I am two places at once. I use this ability in psychic readings. It's unlike when I am linking with Spirit to communicate with those on the other side or guides, where it is quite a high vibration, remote viewing is more a passive energy as in spiritual healing and more on par with the brain rhythms associated with hypnosis and deep meditation.

***All humans have the innate potential to receive detailed information on a target, using only their minds. But throughout history, only a small number of exceptional natural psychics developed their ability to a point of repeatability and consistency. It was not until the late twentieth century when the U.S. intelligence community poured millions of research dollars into the area of psychic functioning that a true breakthrough was realized. In an effort to use psychics for intelligence gathering purposes, the Defense Intelligence Agency contracted Stanford Research Institute to develop a reliable technique that could be used to collect accurate information on distant targets. The outcome of this research was a set of protocols and a training program that allowed virtually anyone to be trained to perceive psychically derived information, while surpassing the accuracy of the best known natural psychics. For the first time, a remote viewer could learn how to consistently separate imagination from true target data and remain locked on to the target signal. Unlike earlier research involving "out-of-body experiences" and freestyle Extended Remote Viewing (ERV), the remote viewer worked fully conscious at a state of high attention. The protocols were designed to slowly bring the viewer to closer target contact, working from the general to the specific, collecting bits and pieces of data in a specific and structured manner, with all viewers following the same rigorously applied six stage process.

Remote Viewing as an Applied Military Intelligence Tool

General Albert N. Stubblebine
- Former Chairman of the Board of PSI TECH

The refinement and development of the process did not end in the laboratory. In the Defense Intelligence Agency's unit, these remote viewing procedures were tested against top secret and distant targets often involving life or death situations - a motivating factor which simply does not exist in the laboratory research environment. The work these viewers produced had to be accurate and they used it to save lives, find hostages and solve complex problems involving the security of the United States. This resulted in improvements in the techniques and training regimen and brought great strides in perfecting the accuracy of the skill. It was now a highly accurate military intelligence collection and problem solving tool, applied by highly disciplined military intelligence officers. One of the training officers of the remote viewing unit formed a private corporation, in 1989, and the former presiding General of INSCOM (Intelligence Security Command) sat on the board of directors, to help usher this technology out of the confines of secrecy and into the private sector. That company is PSI TECH.

PLEASE CAN YOU HELP IN THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS

An arson probe has been launched after heartless firestarters targeted a charity which helps seriously ill children.

Donna’s Dream House in Blackpool has been forced to close and cancel Christmas breaks for the families it helps.

Intruders, who broke in yesterday, set fire to pictures and mementoes of Donna Curtis – in whose memory the charity was set up – as well as part of the Dream House’s Chapel Street building.

Donna’s father Len today spoke of his heartbreak – but said he was determined the centre, which provides holidays for seriously ill children and their families, would re-open as soon as possible.

Mr Curtis said: “We are devastated. We have lost a lot of personal mementoes of Donna because the fire was in the main administration block which also houses my office.

“Whoever has done this has piled everything up including photographs of her in the middle of the room and set it on fire.

“There is an awful lot of heartbreak and memories that have gone up in smoke and they cannot be replaced.

“Donna died on New Year’s Day so this is always a difficult time of year for us as it is.

“The thieves have also broken into the health suite where the sauna and whirlpool bath are and damaged all that. It has put us out of business over Christmas and we’ll have to move families elsewhere.

“However we’ll be working over Christmas to get back up and running by January.”

Firefighters were called to the Dream House just before 7am after a milkman making deliveries raised the alarm.

An office building was well alight but crews were able to prevent the flames spreading further.

No-one was inside at the time, and a family staying in adjacent overnight accommodation were unaffected.

Detectives, who were today examining CCTV footage and using forensic tests to catch the culprits, appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Det Sgt Paddy Dowling, of Blackpool CID, said: “The source of the fire is suspicious and at this stage we believe the fire has been lit in order to destroy evidence of a burglary.

“There is no doubt without the intervention of the milkman, the whole of the office building would have been completely destroyed.

“We find it incredible thieves would target such a well known and established charity for personal gain, but it beggars belief they would attempt to destroy the property knowing it will have a direct impact on terminally ill children.

“We would appeal to anyone who has any information about the incident or the whereabouts of the stolen property to contact us immediately.”

The items stolen include a flat screen TV, several lap top computers and camera equipment.

Andrew Jones, crew manager at Blackpool Fire Station, said: “When we arrived it was a well developed fire and we used two hose reels to tackle it but we managed to contain it. There wasn’t anyone in the building but there were children staying with their family in adjacent accommodation.”

Donna Curtis died from cancer in 1996, aged just 20. Her parents fulfilled her dying wish which was to help terminally ill children when they set up their charity, with the present premises opening in 2002.

Anyone with information can call Blackpool Police on (01253) 293933 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

>> A list of names of families due to receive Christmas presents from Donna’s Dream House has also been lost in the fire. Anyone on the list should contact the charity on (01253) 752222.

The Donna's Dream House Charity in Blackpool is a locally based trust providing free holiday experiences for children and teenagers with life-threatening illnesses and their families, and for recently bereaved siblings and their families

Can you help? Any donations towards the expense of clearing up and rebuilding would be most welcome at this terrible time. Please click on the donate tin below it will take you to Donna's Dream House Charity

ASTRIDESTELLA'S PHILOSOPHY~ NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!

It's coming up to this time of year again when we make New Year Resolutions. For me there is always something new and exciting about the new year. Its full of promise and it's a bit akin to be given a chance to wipe the slate clean and starting over. Most of us look back on the old year and say, "Oh I hope the new year will be better", but instead look back over the old year and see how far you have come. It's doesn't matter if its been a bad year, its been a learning curve, and although you may not yet realise it , you eventually will. You will see how you have grown stronger, your ability to cope will have improved, you will think more and become more resourceful, but even better you will have a unique ability to understand and be able to help those souls who will cross your path, who are not as strong as you and you will be able to help. Sometimes all the help someone needs is an ear and ear to listen and not judge, it helps others see and understand what their problems are and through doing so it can help those to help themselves. This is the basis of good counselling, its not about giving advice, nor telling someone what to do about their problems, its about listening and being empathetic in a non judgemental way, this then ables people to take stock of their life and see their problems from a different view point, instead of panicking and they think, gosh here is someone who listens and understands me. I'm a great believer in, "Never let anyone go without the better from having seen you". Believe when I say the reward is in the giving.

Many resolutions don't last because we set the stakes too high, so instead of trying to achieve a lot, try to do a little on a daily basis by the end of the year you will be amazed on how well you have done. Be kind to yourself to help others first you must take care of yourself, that doesn't mean you become selfish, but that you are in a strong and healthy position to give you the strength and stamina to see the tasks through. So set reasonable, achievable goals and you will do much better than you ever expected.

MAKE YOUR HOLIDAY STRESS FREE (HOW TO DEAL WITH STRESS)

It's that time of year again when due to the stresses of the Holiday Season, tempers can get a bit frayed. We are often together with relatives we don't necessarily get on with but have to make the effort. Money can also be an issue and because of life styles we spend longer with spouses and children. Christmas and New Year tends to be a busy time for me regarding clients as there tends to be so much arguing going on when ideally its a holiday and we should be enjoying it. Remember its only for a few days in a year, so first thing, count to ten and bite your tongue before opening your mouth and think before you speak.

To help you cope with the stresses of the Holiday a few remedies come to mind, these are remedies I have tried myself, so I can vouch for them and some that I recommend and the feedback I've had is good.

Each Kalms Tablet contains the active ingredients: Hops powder BHP 45mg, extract of valerian from 135mg, extract of gentian from 90mg.

Kalms Tablets a traditional herbal remedy its one to try if my first choice Bach Rescue Remedy isn't alleviating your anxiety

RESCUE Remedy is made up of a five individual flower essences that help you cope with the different emotional aspects of stressful situations:
  • Rock Rose is used for terror and panic
  • Impatiens addresses irritation and impatience
  • Clematis is for inattentiveness and a lack of focus
  • Star of Bethlehem is for shock
  • Cherry Plum helps with irrational thoughts and a lack of self control

Calming foods in your diet such as oats Avena sativa  As a food, oats are known to be good for the heart because they keep blood fats under control. They also have other medicinal properties. Avena sativa seeds are not only a rich source of carbohydrate and soluble fibre, they also have the highest content of Iron, Zinc and Manganese of any grain. It is said to be useful as a nerve restorative.
Avena sativa has no known side effects, unlike the sometimes dangerous sexual prescription drugs. This wonderful herb is thought to be soothing to the brain and nervous system, whilst at the same time increasing sexual desire, and performance, in both men and women! It is used as a nervous system general tonic as well as a general health tonic. You will find Avena sativa (oats) in many herbal tonics for anxiety and stress, what better way to take these, is to incorporate this wonderful food in your diet.

Valerian is another good herbal remedy for anxiety especially when anxiety and worry is leading to insomnia. its ability to relax the central nervous system and the smooth muscle groups. It has been used as a sleeping aid for hundreds of years.

Valerian is used in Europe as an antispasmodic, particularly for abdominal cramps due to nervousness and for uterine cramps and menstrual agitation. It helps relieve dysmenorrhoea and it can be of benefit in migraine and rheumatic pain. It may also be applied locally as a treatment for cramps and other muscle tensions.

Valerian is also used as a mild tranquilizer for people experiencing emotional stress, much as anti-anxiety drugs are prescribed and has been prescribed for exhaustion. Valerian has occasionally been tried as part of a program to take a patient off antidepressants or benzodiazepines, and is sometimes used as a muscle relaxant to treat pain.

Valerian does not impair driving ability and produces no morning hangover effect. It is a gentle relaxant and an effective sleep aid. As you can see above Kalms tablets contain Valerian along with Hops and Gentian these two are also known for their relaxing effects.

Valerian as an essential oil is a favourite of mine in aromatherapy, its quite pungent and as is the rule with aromatherapy do not use an oil on a client if they do not like the smell, its clearly not the correct oil for the client, no matter what you've read up about its therapeutic effects.

Food rich in Tryptophan has been shown to be helpful for sleep, calming frayed nerves, weight loss, mood enhancement, pain tolerance, appetite control, chemical addiction, jet lag, and more.

Tryptophan, an essential amino acid, is the precursor to Serotonin, which is a necessary neurotransmitter responsible for transmitting nerve impulses in the brain and inducing sleep and tranquillity. Serotonin deficiencies, which are related, are well documented in cases of depression and insomnia. L-Tryptophan also converts to Niacin, and Vitamin B-6 (5P) is necessary for the metabolism and conversion to Serotonin. The dietary sources for L-Tryptophan are cottage cheese, milk, brown ride, peanuts, meat, turkey and soy products.

Whatever you do don't over indulge in alcohol in an effort to help you cope, that's how addictions start and alcohol as a solution never works anyway, you may forget your worries whilst drinking but in the cold light of a new day, you'll wake up the worse for it. Alcohol is a poison your poor liver has to break down. There's nothing wrong with drinking in moderation but you should not use alcohol as a prop, its a depressant, it often makes people argumentative and take risks as judgement is impaired.

I hope this blog has given you some food for thought, excuse the pun and wishing you all a stress free Holiday

HOMEOPATHY FOR NAUSEA AND VOMITING

Its that time of year when we have the usual winter vomiting virus, there's not much you can do with conventional medicine, excerpt conservative measures and take sips of water regularly  and just wait the 24 to 48 hours or so till it passes.

However Homeopathically there are a few things you can do to make yourself more comfortable, using remedies such as Phosphorous. Phosphorous is also an excellent remedy for post operative nausea from anaesthetic. Arsenicum is another good one to use, especially after food poisoning and suits the kind of person who is a perfectionist, the kind of person who seeing a picture not hanging correctly has a need to straighten it. Nux Vomica is another classic to try, however that tends to be the kind of nausea and vomiting from over indulging, but the one I favour for nausea is Ipecacuanha, where there is a constant unrelenting feeling of nausea.

The good thing about Homeopathy is they dissolve in the mouth so no need to worry about being unable to keep them down. Dosage in the acute stage 30C and as with all homeopathic remedies unlike courses of antibiotics, as soon as there is an improvement stop the remedy. Often the patient starts to feel better in themself, even though they may still have the ailment. This is an indication the correct remedy has been chosen.

You must remember this is only a brief guide, Homeopathy is a vast subject, but the beauty of homeopathy it can be used to alleviate symptoms where conventional medicine often can't.

ANTIWRINKLE CREAM REVIEW

I can safely say this about all so called anti wrinkle creams THEY DO NOT WORK. I will explain why: NOTHING CAN PENETRATE THE TOP LAYER OF THE SKIN THE EPIDERMIS EXCEPT MEDICATIONS, DRUGS DELIVERED BY ADHESIVE PATCHES AND ESSENTIAL OILS, THAT IS FACT. Ask any Dermatologist and he/she will tell you the same thing. If these so called anti wrinkle creams were to achieve what they claim, they would have to be licensed as a medication.

The Epidermis consists of 5 layers and is designed to be tough and waterproof, it needs to be, think about it if you were to hop into a bath if you weren't waterproof you would absorb the water. The upper layers contain a tough protein called Keratin and this Upper Layer has no blood supply only the lowest layer of the 5 layers of the epidermis receives any nourishment through tissue fluid, the fluid you see within a blister. It is the true skin, the Dermis that contains all the nerve endings, blood vessels and collagen and elastin, it is collagen and elastin that gives our skin elasticity and firmness, through time, the specialised cells, Fibroblasts, that produce collagen and elastin, slow down, this can be further exacerbated by how we treat our skin, smoking, too much sun and UV light and stress damage these specialised cells. When we are young the collagen and elastin fibres lie neatly in flat interlocking rows, however, through movement, wrinkling our brows, squinting in bright light and of course the effects of gravity and free radicals (free radicals are pollution and the atmosphere) causes these neat rows to bunch up leading to indentations and wrinkles, see diagram above. So I'm afraid ladies there is no point in spending a vast amount on so called anti wrinkle cream.

This does not mean you cannot do anything about this, you can prevent and slow the process down. Now apart from collagen and elastin plumping our skin up, the skin contains a lot of moisture and through the process of evaporation we constantly are losing fluid from the skin, so we can add moisture to the epidermis this will plump up this upper layer but unfortunately it cannot plump up a wrinkle. Moisturisers that contain a little oil will further stop and trap moisture in the skin and ideally it should be a vegetable oil base, such as grapeseed, sweet almond etc as these oils won't seal and block the pores leading to blackheads and blocked pores that can form spots. Many of the cheap facial moisturisers and even some of the expensive ones contain liquid paraffin, which is a by product of the oil industry, these can block the pores, this type of oil is fine for the body but not for the face so read the labels. You don't see it so much in skin creams these days as its a well known allergen and that is lanolin which is in fact 'Sheep sebum'

So the solution ladies and men too, is to use a good moisturiser, don't squint, get your eyesight checked so you can see properly, wear shades in bright light for the same reason. Eat a good balanced diet so your skin gets all the nutrients it needs. Don't smoke as nicotine constricts blood vessels thus nutrients to the skin, avoid stress or have some sort of relaxation therapy as adrenalin  also constricts the blood vessels and hormones such as the corticotrophic hormones, produced when stressed damage the fibroblasts that manufacture collagen and elastin. Lastly avoid too much UV light as this too damages collagen and elastin as UV light can penetrate the dermis. Remember too dry skin that doesn't produce enough sebum, oil, does line quicker than oily skin, which retains moisture. You do not have to spend a fortune on so called anti wrinkle creams. Vitamin E oil is a well known anti oxidant vitamin therefore its good at protecting the skin from 'free radicals' and under my Aromatherapy section under Holistic therapies I have a recipe for a cheap essential oil based skin cream that can make a difference.

I did come across this website http://www.topwrinklecreams.com/ and the only truthful thing it states on the site is "95% of all Wrinkle Creams simply do not WORK!" and even that is not entirely truthful, I will say 100% don't work, what they want you to do is buy their products which they claim do work. I'm sorry to say they won't, for if they could do all they claim they would have to be licensed as a medication, which of course they are not.

AROMATHERAPY ANTI-AGEING FACE CREME

RECIPE FOR AROMATHERAPY ANTI AGEING/ANTI WRINKLE FACE CREME
Before using any new product particularly on the skin its a good idea to patch test on a tiny area where you wish to apply it and leave it unwashed and alone for 48 hours, if there is no reaction then its safe to go ahead and use the product.
WARNING THIS RECIPE MUST NOT BE USED BY PREGNANT/NURSING WOMEN, THOSE SUFFERING FROM EPILEPSY OR CHILDREN
Aromatherapy oils MUST NOT BE USED UNDILUTED and for the face the dilution is 1%, this is because the face is close to the nose and therefore the limbic system.

For this recipe you will need a base creme and its best to obtain one from an aromatherapy supplier as they are designed to be used for blending. The active ingredients in this recipe are the essential oils themselves and not the base creme.

Essential oils
Frankincense
On the skin this oil helps regenerate helps smooth out wrinkles, it has a firming action, and helps balance sebum levels. The ancient Egyptians used this essential oil in mummification, therefore if it helped preservation it makes sense that it will help preserve the skin.

Lavender
Helps promote new cells again has a balancing effect on the skin and speeds up healing, so its especially effective at dealing with break outs.

Patchouli
This essential oil is also a good skin oil, particularly for rough dry areas and soothing for inflammed areas.

You will also require the contents of a Vitamin E capsule or a few drops of wheatgerm oil (which is high in Vitamin E) this extends the shelf life of the creme but more importantly Vitamin E is a powerful anti free radical agent and helps sooth the skin.

This creme is best used at night however if used during the day you would require the addition of a sun protection factor as UVA light ages the skin (see earlier articles on the skin)

To make a 1% dilution the ratio is as follows 1drop of essential oil to 100 drops of carrier oil/creme

1% dilutions
  • 5 ml:1 drops
  • 10 ml:2 drops
  • 15 ml:3 drops
  • 20 ml:4 drops
  • 25 ml:5 drops
  • 30 ml:6 drops
Therefore if you use a 30 ml jar of base creme you will need 6 drops of essential oil in total so for this recipe add 2 drops each of Frankincense, Lavender and Patchouli, add the contents of the Vitamin E capsule and stir well with a clean spatula. The preparation should last for 3 months and should be kept in a cool place out of direct sunlight.

VITAMIN B RESEARCH SHOWS IT HELPS PRESERVE MEMORY IN THE ELDERLY

Found this article in today's Daily Mail and another reason why Marmite is so good for you! Marmite that lovely yeast paste is rich in Vitamin B complex. Vitamin B is water soluble so must be eaten regularly as the body is unable to store it. It's well known Vitamin B complex is necessary for nerve function so it stands to reason how it can help prevent memory loss in old age. As for Marmite it's said you either love it or hate it, personally I can't see why anyone would hate it, it's divine on hot toast and with cheese and even better it's so good for you.

Daily dose of Vitamin B 'can fight memory loss and help protect against Alzheimer's'

A daily dose of vitamin B can dramatically combat memory loss in old age and even protect against Alzheimer's, a study has found.

People taking the pill had lower levels of a brain protein known to lead to a rise in the risk of dementia.

Researchers found it also slowed mental decline in older people who have slight problems with their memory.

Care: Having a daily vitamin B pill can fight the onset of memory loss in old age

More than 800,000 people in Britain suffer from dementia and the number is forecast to double within a generation, but previous drug trials have been unsuccessful.

Supplement: Research at Oxford University

Around a sixth of people over 70 are thought to suffer from mild cognitive impairment and about half develop dementia, usually within five years of diagnosis.

The research suggested dementia could be treated with a food supplement rather than by taking complicated medicines.

More than 250 people took part in the study, at Oxford University, including people with mild cognitive impairment who were aged 70 years or older.

They were given vitamin B - found naturally in food such as beans, meat, wholegrains and bananas - or a placebo over a two-year period.

Taking the food supplement appeared to help maintain mental processes, such as planning, organising and recalling information.

An earlier study showed B vitamins slowed the rate of brain shrinkage compared with a group receiving a placebo.

Dr Carrie Ruxton of the Health Supplements Information Service told the Daily Express: 'The findings from these two reports should be of interest to clinicians.'

PSYCHIC QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

PSYCHIC QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE TO FORECAST THE FUTURE AND OTHER QUESTIONS?

I am often asked various questions pertaining to the spirit world and various aspects of the psychic, here are some of them: I will in time feature more questions and answers as this webpage evolves

Q. Is a psychic or medium a fortune teller?
A. It may surprise you to know psychics and mediums are not fortune tellers
Q. Is it possible to forecast the future?
A.Well not 100% and this is because of free will.
Q. What is free will?
A. Free will is YOUR right to decide what you want to do about a situation, it is a choice
Q. How does free will affect a situation?
A. Well before we incarnate as Spirit in a human body, we decide on what experiences and challenges that will benefit our spiritual growth. However we are given the choice (free will) as to whether we go through with the experience or challenge. In effect we are allowed to change or mind.
Q. So are you saying we all know what lies before us?
A. Well in a way we all do. Remember we are 'Spirit' in a human body and your spirit does retain a memory but it is deep in our subconscious. This memory is retained deeply for a reason to help us fulfill our experiences and challenges we ourselves chose. However it is also at this deep level so we are not so aware. If you knew what lay before you would you go through with it? Probably not but we still retain this memory deeply and this reflects in our Aura.
Q. So what is the Aura?
A.The aura is The Aura is an electromagnetic field that surrounds living bodies, this includes people, animals, plants and crystals and is composed of several layers that are constantly moving. The Aura links us to whats known as Universal energy i.e. that is all the knowledge in the Universe past, present and future. It is on this aura that psychics are able to tap into and access your past, whats going on in the present and the possible future and I say possible specifically if your goal or desire is dependent on other people, for remember every person involved in a situation has free will.
