Linking with spirit

As I have said before the best way to develop your abilities is either in a group, such as a circle attached to a psychic college or spiritualist church or under the tutelage of an experienced medium.

Not everyone who sits in a circle will necessarily go on to be a platform medium and as often the case are happy to sit in circle contributing their energy to the group. However the time will come when its time to raise your vibrations and take that step in linking with those in the spirit world. I recommend you do this in a circle or with an experienced medium as you need to be confident in what you are doing and keeping yourself safe.

Before you reach this stage you will have of course learned to protect yourself and be experienced in meditation, reason being as its the best way to develop strong mind control which is essential in this work. By this time too, you will have developed the ability to close down fully and open up at will.

When you are ready you need to clear your mind, this is why meditation is important and it teaching you how to still your mind necessary to allow spirit to link with you as all communication with spirit is done through the mind. Having a group around you also boosts your energy to facilitate a good link as does having an experienced medium as he or she will direct some energy to help you connect.. There is a difference in connecting with spirit to receive messages as opposed to delivering healing. Healing energy is a very passive energy and almost trance like whereby  connecting for the purposes of receiving messages is much more energetic and you will find it easier to stand up and perhaps walk about. Some mediums I know like to listen to upbeat music before taking to the platform as they say it helps them raise their vibration to be able to connect with spirit.

This is the method I would use for teaching linking with spirit.

Firstly clear your mind and ask spirit to come close. In the beginning you may find it easier to close your eyes, later on as you become more experienced you will no longer need to do this.

Ask yourself what does the energy feel like? is it a soft energy? a strong energy? Depending on your abilities you may be seeing a picture in your minds eyes or you may just sense. Trust is everything here so trust what your intuition is telling you. Is the energy male or female? No ask spirit to describe themselves, what they look like? Constantly keep asking them to draw close and ask what they passed over with, they me impose a feeling over you like a sudden pain in your head for a stroke say, you may see pictures, you mean hear their voice, but when they do it comes in very fast, too fast for you to think about it, this is why you must learn to still your mind through meditation. Ask what age they were when they passed and ask their name? but above all trust spirit, your own guides will be helping you. It's just as frustrating for spirit on the other side to link with those on the earth plane as they have to lower their vibration to meet you, just as you have to raise yours to link with them. What you are looking for is 'Survival Evidence' to prove that life exists beyond the grave. Ask too why they have come forward today for they generally have come forward for a reason to pass on a message either to you or someone you know so you can pass it on, or someone within the circle. More often than not they tend to come close because of an anniversary of their passing or a birthday.

When you no longer feel you can gain anymore information thank spirit for the message and coming forward and begin to close down and ground yourself, easiest way to to have a glass of water.

Many times i am asked if i can link with someone specifically in the spirit world, that is not up to us, we cannot conjure up someone on command, it is spirit's choice, i will generally ask though and put the thought forward to my guides often I am lucky and the specific person will come forward but even then I ask for identification in that I ask spirit to give me some information that only the person i am reading for, would know. This could be an anecdote from the past or something they have been doing in their home recently as their loved one in spirit has been around them observing what has been going on recently.

The purpose of a medium is to seek confirmation, with as much clues as is possible to prove life goes on after physical death and to trust what information spirit give you and not let your own thoughts interfere and corrupt this evidence. After identifying and proving who they are, they may give some information about the future but they will only do this providing it will not interfere with any challenges or karmic lessons

Now I had to post this being in "the trade" so to speak, but before I even start on this article's views properly I want to point out something that really infuriated me, here the journalist who wrote this did not do his research, indeed IT IS NOT ILLEGAL TO SAY YOU ARE A MEDIUM and you only have to look on the Internet and in every magazine to see "Mediums" advertised.

I would agree there are plenty of charlatans, fakes and frauds around, I have met a few in my time and some I might add who were supposedly spiritualist mediums. A genuine Medium does not guess nor ask questions or try and make things fit. A genuine Medium does not ask leading questions, nor listen in to a crowd nor read people's body language or take any heed of the tone of the recipients voice. A genuine Medium should be able to connect with the recipient's loved ones in spirit without any prompts what so ever. One of the most accurate and best ways to connect on a spiritual level is via instant chat messaging. I say this because, you have no physical contact, you cannot see one another, nor can you hear the recipient's voice. Nor can you conjour up a particular 'Spirit' i.e. the recipient's late mother, sister, brother etc. Spirit come forward for a reason. But by doing communications in this way, you are wholly dependent on your guides and the recipient's loved ones in spirit, you cannot cheat.

As a medium who has worked on platform myself, I would never start a spirit communication, with, "I have a Tom, Dick or Harry or whoever here". That could apply to over half the audience, but to always pick a recipient and deliver the message and give survival evidence i.e. proof I have who I say I have, by finding out what they passed over with, a full description of their appearance and their character and a memory perhaps a description of the recipient's home or the loved one's home, what they did for a living and some activity the recipient  had been doing. I would be looking for concrete proof like a description of a particular photograph or what they had been reading or watching on TV to prove that their loved one was around, a name would not be enough. It is good survival evidence that weeds out the genuine mediums from the 'Fakes'. 

Genuine Mediums trust spirit and if they are unable to obtain a good link with spirit too, they should have the courage to say so. Mediumship is not about party tricks or showmanship but a deep conviction to help others for that is the reason Spirit convey this gift. OK there is an argument why do psychics and mediums charge if they really want to help others, put it this way, you are not paying for their skill but their time, for if we dedicate our lives altruistically how can we work elsewhere, we still have to eat. What most people realise Mediumship takes a great deal of energy its extremely tiring and challenging for the medium to obtain a spirit link. would you go to work and do a tiring and demanding job for no recompense? I doubt it.

Coming back to this article, yes audiences can be fooled and it saddens me there are charlatans, frauds and showmen who parade themselves as mediums, but its like that in all aspects of life, there is good and there is bad. Hopefully you will now know what to look for and know that a genuine medium will give you survival evidence and not try and make things fit.

Picture the scene. ‘I’m getting a Derek, a Donald… no, it’s a David,’ the middle-aged woman on the stage announces to ripples of excitement from the packed audience. ‘Does that mean anything to anyone? Does someone know a David who’s passed recently?’
Nervously, an elderly woman in the stalls raises her hand. ‘My late husband was called David.’
Bingo! The psychic has found her target.

‘I think your David is with us now,’ she announces, to gasps of astonishment. ‘Did your David suffer from pain in his back?’ In the stalls, the woman nods incredulously. ‘Did he pass recently?’ The woman nods again.
‘Well, he wants you know that all the pain has gone now, that he loves you very much and that thing you’ve been worrying about... you’re not to worry about it any more.’
As applause fills the auditorium, the elderly woman dabs away the tears.

On stage, the psychic gives a humble little bow of her head — so pleased to be of service — and moves on.

Now, something very like that happens in most performances given by stage psychics — it has done for centuries — and newspaper reports say that something along those lines happened at a recent performance given in Dublin by Sally Morgan, self-styled as ‘Britain’s best-loved psychic’ and reportedly the daily confidante of Princess Diana.
But was Ms Morgan really addressing the spirit of dear, departed David?
A member of the audience claims otherwise, saying that she could hear a man’s voice relaying information, presumably via a microphone and hidden earpiece — such as ‘David, pain in back, passed quickly’ — to the psychic superstar on stage who, 10 seconds later, claimed to be talking to the spirit of David.
The voice only stopped when it was heard by a theatre usher, who closed an internal window.
So was Ms Morgan getting a little help from the real world rather than the spirit world? While she insists absolutely not — *although it is still illegal in this country to claim to be a medium — having studied stage psychics for years and been one myself in my 20s, I am sceptical.

My own experience as a psychic, manipulating audiences using various tricks, led me to become a magician, which feels altogether more honest.
When people come to see a magician, they know they are being deceived, be it by sleight of hand, misdirection or technical ingenuity. But they’re happy to be deceived because it’s skilful, entertaining and fun: people are happy to suspend their disbelief. Unlike at shows such as Sally Morgan’s, when the audience genuinely believe they are communing with the dead.
‘Stage psychics’ and mediums have propagated this myth for years, using various techniques to overcome our natural disbelief in their so-called powers.
People tend to forget that psychic shows are very big business. In some theatres you can get audiences of 2,000 or more which, at £20 to £50 a ticket, generates a huge amount of cash to be shared.
This money, the innocent audience believes, will be shared between the theatre and the single person they have come to see — the stage psychic who, of course, is there ‘to help’ the bereaved and the grieving.

But what if the psychic is sharing some of his or her cash with others? What if he or she is employing unseen assistants?
These days, most psychic performers have given up using ‘plants’ — people they pay to pretend to be regular members of the audience — because it’s too easy to be found out.

But what if the plants aren’t actually seen in the show? What if they just mingle with the audience, listening into conversation, only to sneak off and relay the information backstage before the show begins?
Gullibly, we believe the performance starts when the curtain goes up; in fact, it probably got under way the moment you walked through the theatre door and started to have a conversation with your friend, despite that chap who was standing so close.
Pre-show work, it’s called, and television audiences for these increasingly popular shows are particularly vulnerable to it. Was that really an audience research questionnaire you filled in before the show started, or have you just made the performer’s job a whole lot easier?
The same goes for anyone who’s paid by credit card at the theatre or whose name appears on its mailing list. Armed with that sort of information, a researcher could be examining your Facebook wall in seconds.
But there’s nothing new about pre-show work. In the heyday of the travelling show in America in the 19th century, members of the psychic’s team would arrive in town the day before the rest of the show.
Keeping a practised low profile, they’d wander through the cemeteries, looking for newly-dug graves, seeing which one had fresh flowers on.
Combine that with an afternoon spent at the town library looking at obituaries in the local paper and huge amounts of information could be dug up to dazzle the audience with when it was duly unveiled the next day.
Communications technology has been used by psychics for around a century.

Claude Alexander Conlin, the American performer billed as ‘The Man Who Knows’, amassed an astonishing fortune of $4.5million (£2.9million) in the second and third decade of the 20th century, his ‘mentalist’ act enhanced by hidden microphones in the ladies’ rest rooms connected to the primitive earpiece hidden under his turban.
Hidden microphones (now in mobile phones, pens or badges), earpieces and human helpers are all still employed by psychic performers, but the biggest research resource these days is, of course, the internet. 
A few months ago I was offered a piece of software that if you fed it a name and a town — which psychics could have access to through ticket sales — would give you an address, and the names of family members (including the recently deceased) and neighbours.
Courtesy of Google Earth and Street View, it could even give you full details of their house, right down to the colour of the front door and the make and model of their car.
It took about 30 seconds and cost around £5,000 a year, small change given the amount of money these performers rake in.

Body language: There are endless techniques 'psychics' like Sally can use to get information on people - but are any of them the real deal?

However, despite these expensive tricks, the very best psychics rely simply on their patter and presence — their stage charisma, if you like — and two inter-related skills known as ‘cold-reading’ and ‘fishing’.
Cold-reading starts with examining your audience closely as your performance begins: their clothes, hands, hair. It’s amazing what a skilled cold-reader can learn just by looking at someone, such as their age, their marital status and their social class.
Then you take an even closer look. Who’s nudging their neighbour? Who’s leaning forward? Whose jaw has just dropped at the mention of a name. You’ve found a target.
Then the fishing starts.
‘Have you lost someone you loved? Have they passed over to the other side?’ Now, that’s a silly question at a psychic show. The only reason people go to such shows is because someone they loved has died and they’re hoping for a message from them.
But because the psychic has got the first question right, the audience member starts to believe. Emotionally, they desperately want to believe, so when the psychic runs through ‘Was it your mother, father, brother, husband?’ the target hears only the right answer: everything else is mentally edited out. 
‘It was my brother Edward,’ they mumble, and from here, the skilled psychic performer is away.
It can be vague — ‘You find it easy to make friends but you haven’t many close friends. Am I right?’ But it can also seem very specific, with questions designed to further win an audience’s trust. ‘Have you got a scar on your left knee?’
You’ll be amazed how often the answer is yes, and if it isn’t, they simply move swiftly on. The audience barely notices and the psychic goes on with the show — raking in pots of cash in the process.
And it is the lucrative nature of this deceit which annoys professional magicians like me. Stage psychics use very similar techniques to us — their audiences are being deceived by the same means — but those audiences don’t realise it and are parting with their money only because they’re bereaved, lonely and at their lowest ebb.
So if, Heaven forbid, performers like Ms Morgan aren’t actually talking to the dead... then I think the public has a right to know.

Being a psychic medium I am asked questions all the time, most often what is he or she thinking? I cannot tell you this as I do not read minds and in fact no psychic medium can read minds. What we do firstly on a psychic level is to read Auras and it is within the aura we are able obtain information about a person's past, what is going on in the present and the potential for the future. I say potential because nothing is written in stone for although we all incarnate with a basic blueprint of choices about what we wish to gain from our life, we also have free will and it is this free will that makes accuracy more difficult. On a mediumistic level I can communicate with guides or loved ones and it is up to them and my interpretation whether I can gleam any information. Sometimes guides will deliberately not reveal information and will step back, this is because there is a challenge and lesson involved and its in our interest to go through it as it will be a valuable teaching experience for us.

Further many will ask questions about a situation and the answer may not be to the questioner's liking. Life is not a bed of roses all the time, so sometimes you may get an answer not to your liking. As a psychic medium I have to give what I am given. Where would my credibility be if I just made it all up and I try my best to give evidence only the recipient would know and I do this mostly with spirit. That does not mean I don't have personal responsibility, that we all do, so I do have to chose what I say wisely and you need to be aware answers are based on many factors, the link, the connection and the medium's interpretation.

Sometimes the answers you may seek will not be the outcome you desire. The moral is: "Don't ask questions if you are not prepared for the answer"

WHEN I SEE A BLACKBIRD ON A BARE TREE I WILL KNOW THEY MEAN WINTER

SPIRIT SHORTHAND

Sometimes when Mediums are relaying messages from spirit they receive what is best described as spirit shorthand. If you have had a reading from a Medium they may mention they have seen a bird, or a black cat etc. This does not mean you have a guide who is a bird or a cat or even the spirits are of deceased pets. For example when I am asked to give a time frame for something that is coming up in the person's life I am reading for, I am often presented with a blackbird sitting in a beech tree. If the black bird is singing and the leaves are newly opened I know, spirit are trying to convey to me it's Spring as the blackbird only sings from March till June, as in the case of the sign I may have if the tree has rich green leaves and the blackbird is not singing, I will know spirit are trying to convey to me it's summer. Likewise if I am given a picture of a blackbird is sitting on the tree and the leaves are falling etc. I will know, they mean Autumn. For some Mediums seeing a symbol of a bird can mean news is coming our way, every Medium is different and we all have our own shorthand of symbols.

Why this is? well spirit vibrations are very fast and they communicate with me in a variety of fashions, every spirit communicator is different like every personality on earth. The voice I hear can come in very fast so it's often reinforced with spirit shorthand to aid communication. Sometimes a whole communication is entirely made up of symbols in this way other times its completely auditory others are entirely visual with spirit actually signing or holding up a blackboard or by pointing at their body to convey what they passed with. Other times its completely by feeling but mostly they communicate by a mixture of everything.

The symbols and shorthand we develop is an entirely individual thing, no one Medium will have the same, don't ask me how I know which symbol means what, I just know and likewise for the developing Medium they too will develop their own understood form of spirit shorthand. Spirit will make use of all of the Medium's senses to convey a message to loved ones on earth, all the Medium has to do, is just trust  what they are getting and allow their own intuition to guide them.

What if you believed that this life was all that there is. That there was no afterlife, no heaven and no hell. How would you view life? Would you live for the moment? doing whatever you wanted, knowing that it didn't matter who you hurt and how you treated others? Or would you be sad knowing this was all that there was. If this is all there is, how would you feel knowing all your hopes, dreams and aspirations die with you? Knowing that you will never again see those you love when either they or you die. Wouldn't you feel sad? Wouldn't you question the whole meaning of life?

There are some people who believe in just this but the vast majority of us do believe in something, the desire to worship and believe in something is inherent within all of us. Be it a Higher Power or God, there is a tiny spark within all of us to believe what is right and wrong and to know there is something bigger than us. It's been there from the beginning of time. Ok there are someone people who's tiny spark may not be very bright but I firmly believe it is still there and its just a question of finding the right catalyst to trigger it off to burn a bit brighter.

If you believe there is a greater power and after we die we go on to live eternally how do you view your life. I feel this makes us more hopeful and it gives life more meaning and its more comforting to think our loved ones will live on. It makes our live feel more like a preparation for the next and it makes us more aware of how we should live our life and you can view life as a learning process.

But supposing you are given definite proof we don't die at all and you are given evidence that your loved ones live on? Supposing you are given evidence by those who have died messages beyond the grave, only something you could possibly know or better still where a third party has to verify this evidence? Would this comfort you to know, this life is not the end and know that you will meet your loved ones again? Would this change your outlook on life, would you live it differently with new meaning?

I firmly believe when you are given this hard evidence from spirit, you do see the bigger picture, it enables you to understand why we are here on Earth and it is comforting and it takes away the fear of death. For its fear of the unknown that causes the distress. It helps us view what is important in life and makes us realise material objects are just objects and do not matter in the scheme of things. Importantly it also fans that spark of righteousness thats within all of us to live our lives better and to treat others better. It brings us contentment.

Q. Is a psychic or medium a fortune teller?

A. It may surprise you to know psychics and mediums are not fortune tellers


Q. Is it possible to forecast the future?

A.Well not 100% and this is because of free will.


Q. What is free will?

A. Free will is YOUR right to decide what you want to do about a situation, it is a choice

Q. How does free will affect a situation?

A. Well before we incarnate as Spirit in a human body, we decide on what experiences and challenges that will benefit our spiritual growth. However we are given the choice (free will) as to whether we go through with the experience or challenge. In effect we are allowed to change or mind.
Q. So are you saying we all know what lies before us?

A. Well in a way we all do. Remember we are 'Spirit' in a human body and your spirit does retain a memory but it is deep in our subconscious. This memory is retained deeply for a reason to help us fulfill our experiences and challenges we ourselves chose. However it is also at this deep level so we are not so aware. If you knew what lay before you would you go through with it? Probably not but we still retain this memory deeply and this reflects in our Aura.

Q. So what is the Aura?

A.The aura is The Aura is an electromagnetic field that surrounds living bodies, this includes people, animals, plants and crystals and is composed of several layers that are constantly moving. The Aura links us to whats known as Universal energy i.e. that is all the knowledge in the Universe past, present and future. It is on this aura that psychics are able to tap into and access your past, whats going on in the present and the possible future and I say possible specifically if your goal or desire is dependent on other people, for remember every person involved in a situation has free will

Q. Are Mediums and Psychics the same?

A.No they are not. Mediums are also Psychics but Psychics are not Mediums. Mediums and Psychics work on two different levels. The psychic vibrations are closer to the Earth Plane and it may surprise you to know that each and everyone of you have the ability to develop this sense.

In days gone by as we evolved as a species, this 6th sense (the psychic for that's all it is) was part of our survival mechanism. Designed to keep us safe and out of danger i.e. that "gut feeling" that something was wrong or that we smelt danger. However as we became more civilized we began to depend less on our instinct and our psychic sense. Animals however still have this ability and if you watch your cat or dog you will see them tap into this sense.

Mediumship though cannot be developed this is a gift bestowed on the Medium and many a Medium will tell you, "Is it a gift or is it a curse?" It can be both. Mediums work on a higher vibration that that of Psychics and equally they can also work on a psychic level. Mediums have the ability to pick up and interpret the high vibrations from Spirit, just like a radio.

Q. You mention different levels of vibration what is the difference?

A.There are several planes within the Universe, the lowest being close to Earth see diagram below

It is on the Astral planes we visit when we dream, also on the Astral planes you will find souls who generally because of some trauma are unable to move on and pass over to the realms of Spirit, they appear to be stuck in limbo. The Astral planes is where you will find lower elementals, these are nature spirits, such as elves, nymphs etc and all those negative ones who like to cause mischief. It is also common when we start to open up psychically to see those elementals. For they know you have this ability and to them its akin to having a beacon flashing above your head and they will home in and cause mischief. This may take the form of a dream or what's common you will have a sensation of waking up and feel you are being attacked by a dark figure. They cannot harm you in any shape or form nor can they possess you, a myth brought about by the catholic church. No one can take control of your physical body or your soul, only you can do this. Your soul is fixed in your physical body until the point of death and then passes over to the spirit realms. Yes these experiences may be frightening but that's all they can do frighten but they cannot harm or hurt you in any way. When you develop psychically a bit more all you need do is tell them to get lost and they will go.

In my many years of working with Spirit and it has been a lifetime, often I am asked about disturbing dreams or experiences, when waking in the night or just drifting off to sleep. These often manifest as frightening faces, or eyes or a sensation you are being attacked. These experiences tend to come when you are very tired and off guard. These experiences are typical of the activities of lower entities and elementals that inhabit the astral plane. The Astral plane is the closest vibration of the several spiritual realms, to earth and it is on this realm we travel when we sleep.

Now everybody is capable of developing their psychic ability, this is not the same as mediumship, where you can communicate with spirit, this psychic ability is inherent to all of us and was designed as a protective mechanism to keep us safe. Animals still use theirs, we have just got out of the habit and in this day and age we do not use it for survival. However some are more psychically aware than others so are able to sense these entities on the Astral Planes. I might add it is the Astral Plane that Psychics use as it is a lower vibration that the ones used by Medium's when they communicate with loved ones in spirit.

Unfortunately when you are developed or starting to develop this psychic ability, it's almost as if you have a beacon above your head and these lower entities can detect who can see them, so they get up to mischief and have what is fun to them, hence the activity and experiences. Firstly no being, no spirit can ever possess you, this is a myth put about by various religious orders, that is simply nonsense, your spirit and your spirit only is the only one who can inhabit your body, however if you brainwash people into believing this, mass hysteria will prevail, it just cannot happen I assure you, only you are in control of your body. These entities can maybe give you a fright, but only if you let them, they cannot harm you in anyway, you are in total control at all times.

So what can you do about these experiences, well you have a choice, we all do for remember no matter for whatever reason we came to earth to experience we also have free will. So we can choose to develop our experiences and many latent Mediums start off in this way, some don't progress this far but do develop their psychic abilities, or we can suppress and ignore these abilities, we all have free will. If you wish to develop your ability, then its best to find a good development group and many of these groups can be found in Spiritualist Churches, many others can be found under the guidance of an experienced Medium. If you do not want to take this ability any further that is fine also, but if you do not want these experiences and disturbances, then you need to refrain from reading and dabbling in psychic subjects and if you do get disturbed you have to show no fear when these experiences happen. If this doesn't work then simple table salt sprinkled in the corners of rooms, should be enough to chase them away.

Supposing you will to follow the development path, well remember Universal Laws, there is good and bad, there is a continual balancing of the Universe and Like attracts like, the more spiritual you become the less likely you are to be bothered in this way, if you have good and pure thoughts and don't dwell on the lower side of life, you wont attract this type of energy. At some point all developing Mediums will be shown the dark side, it's a right of passage and I defy any Medium to say they haven't experienced this. In order to understand good, you need to understand the bad, so you can deal with it. How do we deal with the negative and bad we do this through strength of mind for to chase away the bad we need to do so with conviction. We develop strength of mind through the art of Meditation. You will find the better we become in meditating the stronger our minds become, so we are able to turn on and off psychic and mediumistic abilities. We need to be able to do this so we can deal with these entities and communicate more effectively with the world of spirit and also it's very exhausting being tuned in all the time, it uses a great deal of energy up. We also need to learn to protect ourselves from negative energy as this can be terribly exhausting too and you don't need to be a psychic or medium to benefit from this. How many of you have a friend or associate who comes and tells you all their troubles, they make you feel low and tired, of course they go away feeling great, they've off loaded all their negativity onto you. Simple exercises, simply by using visualisation can make the world of a difference when dealing with these negative people and protect us when entering negative surroundings.

One of the simplest protection visualisation exercises is to simply visualise you surround yourself in either golden or silver light, like stepping into a sphere or egg shape and you seal it completely. Next time you feel vulnerable or know you are meeting negative people try this exercise and see how it makes a difference.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PSYCHIC AND A MEDIUM?

THE ANSWER IS NO ONE CAN. I hope the article I've posted before will shed some light on to why this is for basically it explains FREEWILL. (especially area highlighted in italics)

What is the difference between a Psychic and a Medium?


Everybody is capable with working on a psychic level, it is our sixth sense. When man was evolving it was this special sense, that kept us safe, it was an inner knowing, a gut feeling that helped protect us and survive danger. Animals still use this sense, you might like think of it as being akin to instinct.

The psychic level is our link with 'the ethos', the Universe, where all knowledge can be sought.

It is perfectly possible to develop this ability, through finding a development class or from various techniques and exercises that can be found in suitable reading literature. Some people are naturally good psychics and it is perfectly possible to develop naturally. However this can be frightening for some, in which case a development class is the best option where the student will be under the tutelage of an experienced medium.

So just what is psychic energy, it is an energy lower than that of spiritual energy but it gives us insight and ability to gain knowledge from the past, present and future. We can do this by linking in to the universe, where the answers we are seeking to anything can be found. We do this by using our subconscious mind, the same part of the brain that is active when we are dreaming or under hypnosis. Our subconscious mind absorbs every piece of information given to us, every thought, every event in our present life and those we had before. The trouble is gaining access to this information, it is a skill, and like all skills can be developed.

Ah! the future, you say, that sounds interesting, and who on earth doesn't want to know at some point in their lives, what will befall them, whether it is, 'Will I pass this exam?', 'Will I get the job?' or 'When will I move house?' Therein lies the problem. It is truly impossible to truly predict the future accurately, we have all been issued with 'Free Will', nothing is written in stone, so it can only be a guide, as we all have the ability to make our own futures and life is what you make it.

So What is Mediumship?

The word 'medium' means a vessel, literally. Mediums have the ability to link with spirit and communicate with them. When the physical body dies, the mind lives on, it is our mind that is our soul, our spirit. The term 'ghosts' are not spirit at all, a ghost is akin to a tape recording the vibrations of that person, and generally the recording is deposited and left behind after a particularly traumatic event in that person's life whilst they were here on earth. The event was so traumatic as to have caused immense distress to that person, all the emotions, feelings and mental anguish made a mark on where these strong emotions were experienced. Generally the so called 'ghost' follows the same pattern, an anniversary of the sighting might be experienced on the same date year after year for example. It is impossible to communicate with a ghost as it is a 'recording' and not a spirit.

So the spirit is the mind energy of someone who was once alive at sometime on earth, and the only difference now is they don't have a physical body. We as humans on earth just now are spirit in a human body that is the only difference.

Mediumship is not something that can be acquired through attending a course like psychic ability, it is a gift given to us by the 'Godhead' to be utilised for the highest good for mankind.

Everything on earth and in 'heaven' has a vibration, an energy, mediums have the ability to 'tune in' to this vibration and interpret ate it; a bit like turning the tuning dial on a radio to locate a station. After all each radio station has its own wave length and by turning the tuning dial we locate another channel. We know that sound waves exist, we cannot see them, but we know they are there for when we turn on the TV or radio, they are responsible for enabling us to watch and listen to our favourite program. This is exactly what a medium is, we have been gifted this 'tuning dial' that is all.

So when someone passes over, I prefer this term to death, it is only the physical human body that perishes, the person's mind still exists, with all the personality and foibles that made that person who they are, their character. Mediums therefore have the ability to tune into each souls vibration and pick up messages for their loved ones they left behind when their physical body perished.

Mediums are also psychic as spiritual vibrations resonate at a higher frequency than that of the psychic so have the ability to work on both levels. A medium cannot conjure up spirit, The link between spirit and those on earth is love and that bond can never be broken and lives on for all eternity. So all the medium can do is to ask for those loved ones to come forward if they have any messages of love to gift for those they have left behind on earth.

Most of the work a medium does is to provide survival evidence. 'Survival' evidence is knowledge that cannot be gained by the medium themselves about the person they are giving a sitting to, it is generally only something that the sitter would know, and often can only be confirmed by another relative, proof that their loved ones in spirit exist. Mediums are not there to foretell the future, the loved ones in spirit may well give a little information purely as proof of survival and as long as it did not hinder any progress in life for the sitter. And remember if you didn't take advice from 'Grandad' when he was alive you don't have to now he's passed over, he still has exactly the same personality and character as he did when he was' here'.

So how do mediums communicate with spirit, we do this with our minds, to be totally honest I have had this ability for as long as I can remember, and truthfully I really don't know, but I have over the years been able to recognise various sensations, that alert me that spirit are around, sensations like differences in temperature, tingling etc.

Mediums communicate in different ways, sometimes through 'clairvoyance' which means clear seeing, where the medium actually sees the spirit, now this can be in one of two ways or even both, where the medium sees the spirit as if looking at someone in real life, in the physical, the spirit may even be transparent or in their minds eye, this is known as 'Mental Mediumship'. Personally myself I see spirit in both these ways.

In 'clairaudience', this means hearing, now this can be actually hearing a voice that you is not your own, or it can sound like your own, but its not your thoughts, and don't worry, I am quite sane lol!

In 'clairsentience', this is feeling, sensing, the spirit, in this the medium senses the emotions, mental state of the spirit, almost as if the spirit imposes their themselves over you.

Most mediums use one or two of these abilities, myself I combine all three, when I link with them, this enables me to experience all their emotions, see what they looked like and hear what they are saying.

Now as I've said everything in the universe has its own vibration, Earth having the lowest in spiritual terms. After Earth comes the Astral realm, it is on this realm that we travel when we dream, its not unusual to see friends etc, in dream state, after all they will be travelling this realm too at night lol. It is on this realm where lower Elementals reside, i.e. wood nymphs, nature spirits, elves and fairies amongst others, and as often as in the case spirit who are trapped unable to move on also reside in this vibration. this is the same vibration used in psychic work. There are several spiritual realms each having a different vibration, with the most Celestial where the realms of the Angels are.

When the medium links with spirit, he or she has the ability to raise their own vibration that bit higher, loved ones in spirit who are around us at a given time, whether it is to help their loved ones on earth or sometimes it is an anniversary of their passing, will have lowered their vibration and the medium is then able to pick up these vibrations and interpret ate them. Unfortunately for the medium, it is not so easy and difficult to maintain this link continuously, hence some information may be lost, complete names for example and sentences to explain: 'the fat black cat sat on the red mat', what the medium might hear because of the fluctuating vibration would be: 'the back sat on mat', hence some information is lost.

For some reason spirit sometimes work with a type of shorthand i.e. symbols, these symbols have to be and worked out by the medium for example to me, seeing a ring might mean a marriage or partnership, it might mean something differently entirely to another medium, we each have our own, it is a way of communicating at a fast vibrational level. When messages from spirit come in to the medium's mind the arrive very fast and to help the medium 'catch' and interpret ate these messages quickly the shorthand helps speed up the process.

One of the most accurate ways of obtaining information from spirit is by doing absent readings, here the sitter is not present and the medium can link in with the sitter either by thinking about them or by viewing a photograph, sometimes an example of handwriting is useful. In this method the medium will ask any spirit links to come forward with any messages for the sitter. This is a particularly accurate method, for the medium cannot read the sitter's body language or by careful questioning gleam any information from the sitter as they are absent, many mediums work best in this area and each medium will eventually find a method suitable for them.

I myself personally like to work with Tarot, this works on the psychic level first of all, and in doing his gives an insight to the sitter's past, present and future, for all that can be picked up from the sitter's auric field: and then I raise the vibration to link with spirit, to bring forward any messages from the spirit realms. With regard to the information from the tarot or any other Mantic tool (A mantic tool is any form of divination aid such as tarot, crystals, crystal ball, angel cards, tea leaves any sort of aid that helps aid the psychic to use as a tool to latch on to the unique vibration of the sitter. The hand of the sitter is a mantic tool in palm reading) nothing is written in stone, God and the Universe gave us 'Free will'

Before we incarnate as spirit in a human body, for that is what we are whilst on earth, we have some sort of basic plan in mind. We have a goal, a series of lessons we have chosen for ourselves to experience and learn, these lessons may be such as humility, compassion, kindness, sorrow, pain and suffering, for in experiencing these emotions and experiences, we develop empathy and understanding for our fellow humans on earth. Each time we go through these experiences, we become more spiritual and closer to God. But we are never left on our own to go through life's traumas, we have our friends and guides in spirit who give us support to undergo these tasks. Sometimes it feels as if we are all alone and this is because of guides have to stand back to let us experience pain and suffering, for only by undertaking these challenges we learn and grown strong. They never allow us to suffer so much that we cannot bear it, we have chosen these experiences for ourselves, so we are responsible for our own spiritual development. They are there to guide and support us in our 'School on earth'. Why is it we never remember what we planned before we came here? Well that is because if we knew what was before us would we want to; I think not!

Often we incarnate in the same soul groups, the soul is neither male nor female, and we choose which sex we will be to experience life and views from that perspective. Sometimes in that soul group we may be the father of the son who was the father in the last incarnation to experience life from both sides to gain empathy and understanding. We tend to incarnate in groups so that we learn from one another, and the power of this in action is that we are often drawn to particular people in our lives here. We are often drawn to these souls, on meeting these people we instantly feel a bond, not necessarily of physical attraction, but we feel some sort of unseen force bond at work, for we had planned this meeting before we came here, and we recognise one another on a subconscious level. Remember though it is up to us whether we choose whether to go through the experience, but generally if we delay the process, we will often have to relive these experiences at a later date or another life, for we know instinctively what is best for us. We choose to do this because we have a common goal we wish to grow closer to God and the Universe.

Spiritual love is the purest love of all, it has no conditions, it does not judge, it has no limits and never ends. It conquers all that is evil and bad in this world and removes all pain. Our common goal is to grow in spirit, and our loved ones in spirit are always there supporting and sending us their love. Mediumship is a gift bestowed upon us to help mankind in order that we can feel the touch of spirit from beyond, to support and teach us and keep us on our chosen path, our path to God.
